Chapter 27 Colosseum

During the crews journey to Dressrosa, the group escorting Caesar and the frozen Vergo encountered a problem. The Vice-admiral Maynard and Strawberry was the one escorting the two to headquarters before they encountered a group of pirates that blocked their path.

There were two people that were leading several pirate ships with a distinguishing jolly roger of a slim skull with horns sticking out, curing upwards and two rectangular shaped boxes vertical at the sides. On the skull there were also several bones sticking out from the head. It was none other than the beast pirates. The two leading the beast pirates was a man with white hair and a pair of circular shades and a woman with pink hair. The two were wearing what seems to be hardcore rock clothing that showed a bit of skin on the upper torso area.

???: " Sheepshead-sama I see the navy pirates not far ahead. When do we engage?"

Sheepshead: " Ginrummy. We will fight them soon enough. Let's wait until they get closer."

Ginrummy: " Do we send cannons to destroy their ships?"

Sheepshead: " No, we might send the ship that had Caesar to the ocean floor before we could even get him."

Navy grunt 1: " Vice-admiral Maynard and Vice-admiral Strawberry, there are pirates that are blocking our way. What should we do?"

Vice-admiral Maynard and Vice-admiral Strawberry looked over and saw the jolly roger of the pirates and immediately knew who they were dealing with. It was the Beast pirates. The Yonko Kaido's subordinates has probably sent them to interfere with their escort of Caesar and Vergo.

Vice-admiral Strawberry: " Since they dare come and block us, attack them."

Soldier 1: " Last call for anyone who wants to enter the Colosseum."

Paul: " Looks like they're calling for me haha." Paul decided to not go under a disguise, simply because someone with strong observation haki can immediately bypass the disguise and figure out who the person was so it's pretty useless against strong people.

Paul: " Hello, I would like to enter."

Soldier 1: " Okay, Please sign your name here and then you can enter."

Paul signed his real name and entered the colosseum. Inside he saw several people with different builds and varying strengths. He was led to an area where he can equip armor and other kinds of weapons. Paul however, didn't need any of those things. As he was being shown around, Paul realized that he didn't know the reward for winning the tournament and asked her, " Hey what's the reward for winning the tournament."

Female Attendant: " The reward for winning the tournament is the logia fruit Shiro Shiro no mi ( Platinum Platinum)."

Paul: " 'whistle' okay thank you. I can handle myself from here."

Female Attendant: " Very well then, you are in block A. Enter the arena when your group is called for."

After the female attendant left, Paul was getting excited for the tournament. A logia fruit of the element of Platinum. Just how strong could a person get once they ate that devil fruit. It wouldn't matter much if a person does have haki, platinum alone is strong enough to withstand most physical attacks easily. If it can be shift into a liquid and solid state then the person's potential has no limits in strength.

As of yet, Paul was slightly disappointed when looking at the other contestants here. So far he doesn't recognize anyone strong. Maybe they might've already been turned to toys but at the very least he was only looking forward to getting the devil fruit. If he gets that devil fruit, then he will have two super strong devil fruits in hand such as the lightning devil fruit and this one. He wants to a strong person who specializes in speed to get that devil fruit so that he can compete against Kizaru and then the platinum devil fruit could be used against Akainu. But these thoughts will be for the future as he does not have the required amount of teammates.

After waiting for a bit, finally block A was called out to enter the arena. Paul and several others walked out to the arena. The others prepared for battle while Paul kept a casual attitude.

Announcer: " Block A's battle rumble will start NOW!!"

However, Paul wanted to speed things up for a bit so he used conqueror's haki to the fullest. One by one bodies fell to the ground. There was but one person that barely held on to their consciousness. Paul was surprised but what he saw. It was a young female gladiator with bright pink hair. When he saw her, he was speechless. He didn't understand why she was in the colosseum this early in the time line. He had thought that she would be training with the toy soldier at this point. She should be at 14 years old and yet she still stood up to his haki. What powerful will power does she have at this young age.

Announcer: " Lo Look at what we have here. The super pirate Paul of the Chaos Pirates and what seems to be the young princess of the past King Riku.

Paul: " Why are you here? Isn't it too early for you to stand on this stage?"

Rebecca: " What does it matter to you. What I do doesn't concern a outsider like you."

Paul: " Do you think you still have a chance against me? Little girl, you are too young to stand up to Doflamingo."

Rebecca: " 'tch' What do you know. I will get the devil fruit which will make me strong enough to beat him and avenge my mother."

Paul: " You won't be able to get the devil fruit and you won't have to worry about Doflamingo after I leave here."

Rebecca: " What..."

Before she could gather her thoughts, Paul sent her flying from the ring with a wave of his hand.

Announcer: " With such ease. Paul's strength corresponds with his great strength. It seems like no one in the arena could no longer stand against this great pirate. The last man standing in Block A is the Pirate Pauuuuulllll."
