Chapter 96: Lore Master

Karl left them as soon as the show was over, not surprising. Rhychard was too exhausted to even care. He wanted to get back to his condo and talk to Tryna. He had a brief conversation with Kree to let him know his family was safe and the elves guarding them would be on the lookout for all forms of danger, not just from the Void. Rhychard wanted to say he was relieved, but he had grown to realize the faerie world could be fickle at the best of times. He didn’t want to think of the worst of times.

Once they were home, Kree used his magic to heal the sword cut under Rhychard’s right eye. It was already too late for the wound to be healed completely, so it left a jagged scar down the Warrior’s cheek. He stared at it in his bathroom mirror, pulling at his face in different directions to make it look less noticeable. It didn’t work. A scar was a scar.

“It doesn’t look too bad,” Renny said as she leaned back on the bathroom door.
