Buttercup just couldn’t handle sitting through one more of the elf’s magical stage shows. She had enough drama in her life without having someone else’s displayed in front of her in 3D. She stepped out of Rhychard’s condo and headed toward the bus stop. She needed to figure out what to do with her life and sitting in Rhychard’s living room watching Faeries Gone Wild was not the way to accomplish it.
As she took a seat on the bench, her cell phone rang. It was one of the things Rhychard helped her acquire after the implosion of Harvest Fellowship. “You can’t really get a job unless they have a way of contacting you to tell you you’re hired, right?” he said the day he handed it to her. “It’s not that much more to add someone to my plan so don’t worry about it. When you start working, I’ll hand you the bill.” It was just another way he always took care of her. Yet, she felt she hadn’t done much to repay him.
