As they left the diner, Trace took a deep breath before reaching out to take Giselle’s hand. The conversation during lunch was scattered, both of them being shy, but he enjoyed getting lost in just being with her. “I enjoyed today,” he said, as they walked back toward their cars. “It sucks that you have to go to work now.”
She dipped her head in a short nod. “I agree. Maybe I’ll win the lottery one day and can skip the whole working for a living thing.”
“If I win, I’ll share it with you.”
She blushed at his words, the pink tint to her flesh causing him to blush as well. “That would be sweet.”
He escorted her to her car, a classic by the looks of it, and for the first time, they managed a goodbye hug. “Call me when you get off work. If you want that is. Maybe we can do something.” He took a deep breath, trying to slow his speech.
She smiled, the blush still on her cheeks. “That would be nice.”
