Chapter 81 - Daughters of Darkness

“Here you go, Tansy,” Melli said in her usual chipper fashion. “One cup of coffee, two sugars, and a warmed up cheese danish. You’re not taking it with you?”

Tansy shook her head. “No, Wanda and Sherri have the store, so I thought I’d enjoy a bit of quietness before heading there.” She glanced around the bakery, impressed at how packed it was. She probably would have received more quiet back at The Murky Cauldron. “You seem to be pretty busy for a Tuesday. Is it always like this?”

“For the first hour,” Melli said, leaning on the table as she glanced around at the patrons waiting for their orders. “It’s mostly other store owners and the moms who just finished their workouts at that yoga place a few places down, but I’ll take it. Weekdays are definitely slower than weekends.” She tilted her head. “Isn’t it the same for your store?”

Tansy chuckled as she shook her head. “You’d be surprised.”
