Chapter 96 - Daughters of Darkness

“What is it with street whores suddenly developing magic powers?” Griffin shouted, aiming the gun at Laci, his hand trembling. He cast a quick glance at Hayley and the other woman. “Do you two have powers you’re not telling me about, because now’s the best damn time to come clean.”

“I doubt they have any power outside of coaxing a twenty-dollar bill out of a cheating husband’s wallet,” Laci said as she spread her legs a little, bracing to deal with the idiot and his hookers. “I warned you to leave, Griffin. You’re the one who brought a gun to a magic fight.”

“Not the smartest move you’ve made so far,” Sherri said as she moved around the counter to stand near Laci. “Now, you wanted the door locked. What were you planning to do?” She squinted her eyes a bit, as if in deep thought, then nodded. “Oh yeah, you wanted to party.” She shrugged. “All right, let’s party.” She stretched her arms down to her sides, magic sparking around her fingertips.
