Selina stared around her mother’s backyard at the destruction, the leftover remains of where the detective Tansy called came to take away the remains of Nicole and Selina’s mother, the scorched earth from where the Darkness ripped into them, the holes in the ground where the entity reached for Cherise. The place was a chaotic mess, and Selina couldn’t help but feel like she could have stopped it, if only she had stood up to her mother sooner.


Selina didn’t know what happened after the Darkness knocked her out, but somehow the vile entity killed Nicole and Cherise before taking over Clara’s body. Nicole looked nervous at the end, as if she suddenly regretted even being out there. Selina was sure the others made some sort of plans before she arrived, and whatever those plans were, Nicole wasn’t completely on board, which is probably why the Darkness killed her.
