Chapter 149 - Chaos Magicians

Damien searched the homes of the others, but they were nowhere to be found. He circled the city, looking in every spot he could think of for the other magicians to hide, but everything came up empty. Anger fueled his scouring of the city, his body a tight knot of rage ready to explode on the first person who stepped in his way. Hopefully, that person would be Professor Edward Lankton.

As night swallowed Harbor City, Damien found himself standing at the base of the causeway, staring out at the Indian River as grief gripped his heart, squeezing it in its icy clutches. He fell to his knees, hands on his thighs as he doubled over, sobs wracking his body. How could Marcus have been so fucking stupid? Why, Marcus? Why did you leave me like this? Why did you get us involved in this bullshit? Tears flowed down his cheeks, his nose running as he clenched his eyes shut, the pain overwhelming. How would he get himself out of this?
