Chapter 152 - Chaos Magicians

The bell over the door jingled as Mark Rochester walked in to The Murky Cauldron. Tansy turned from where she stood by a rack of shirts, smiling at the detective. “Good morning, Mark,” she greeted the man, stopping her task in order to join him. “Any good news?”

Mark shook his head, sliding his hands into his pockets. “Sadly, no. Tricia couldn’t find any reason why the kid died. There were no marks, no internal damage. Nothing.” He gave a slight shrug. “By all appearances, he just keeled over.”

Tansy sighed. “Well, we know how he died. There’s just no way to prove a god from the beginning of time did it.”

Mark nodded. “And while the girls can testify to the professor kidnapping them, they can’t exactly tell a judge how the man killed one of his students.”

“At least we can get him on something. If we can find him, that is. Any luck in that area?”
