Chapter 64

I was lying in bed, watching horrible reality television when room service arrived. Excessive amounts of food were the only thing that dulled the pain.

I didn't think twice about opening the door when I found Davis pushing my cart of food-yes, cart-into the room. His face looked like raw hamburger meat, and I wondered how Liam had fared, but I didn't ask.

"Where's the guy who was delivering that? The one who actually works here."

He ignored my question to take jabs at my order. "This is a ton of food, Callie. Is someone joining you? You're going to get fat if you eat like this." He pointed at my burger and maybe gagged when he saw the fries.

I stuck out my tongue and ignored his rude comment. To further piss him off, I didn't bother to take anything off the cart-I just pulled up a chair and sat down with a fork.

"We need to talk."

I didn't make eye contact or bother waiting to swallow. "No, we don't."

"Okay, then you need to listen while I talk."
