Ally or foe?

"Leah, why are your legs working slower than your brain?" Suigetsu says, and I punch him. We traveled through the forest and reached the outskirts of Kirigakure. There was supposed to be a small village around here, and Sasuke said we'll reach and crash there tonight.

I was still not sure whether to tell Sasuke the truth about Itachi. Every time I saw those cold, hate-filled eyes, all I could think about is the regretful look he had in them after he realized the truth. But this was a major change and could lead to a completely different, not necessarily good future for this World. But... I don't want Itachi to die... not if I can do something about it...

But is that the right thing to do though?

"No good comes to those who play with fate." A voice echoed in my ear.

Oh no. Not now. I clutched my head and sank to the ground. My vision was going black, and my head felt like it was going to explode. I could see Suigetsu and Sasuke saying something. But I could hear them at all. My ears were ringing and I touched them, to find something. Blood.

I clenched my fists and closed my eyes. The pain died down after a few more minutes of torture. I stood up and brushed my clothes. My ears bleeding was a new addition, which could only mean my episodes are getting worse. Was it the cost of living in a world that is not mine? I looked up to see Sasuke frowning and Suigetsu gaping.

"What the hell was that?" They said at the same time, in completely different tones.

"Aw, were you guys worried for me?" I smirked and sank my shaking hands into my pockets. I can't really tell them more than what I have already told them. Plus, I also don't want to get emotionally attached and trust them more than I needed to.

But I liked them. And that might be the death of me.

"If it's gonna happen again, you're only going to slow me down," Sasuke said, annoyed, and I smiled. I couldn't help but love this jerk, even though he could kill me anytime.

Sasuke was forced by Itachi to watch their parents die 518,400 times under his Tsukiyomi.

"I understand," I said, and walked beside him. "I'm sorry, Sasuke" I mumbled, and he looked at me as if he knew I wasn't apologizing for this. To be honest, I didn't know what I was apologizing for either.

"We're here." Suigetsu said, and that snapped me back to reality. I looked up to see a small village with minimal crowds, which was perfect cause the last thing our trio needs is more attention.

The smell of food made my stomach growl so hard, and somehow the bustling crowds felt strangely familiar. I looked around to see so many small shops, selling both pretty and dangerous trinkets.

I wanted a weapon. But I couldn't ask Sasuke about it. He's definitely not gonna trust me armed, and I didn't really want to beg him for one. I signed and looked away from those sleek daggers.

I want one. So bad.

We reached one of the inns and were sitting around the table, eating our food. My hunger finally died after I dumped those delicious ramen servings in me.

"We should be there by tomorrow" I heard Suigetsu tell Sasuke, and I sighed.

"Do you know how annoying it is to be completely ignored in conversation when you already know what they're talking about?" I said, and Suigetsu frowned. "You're talking about Karin aren't you?" I said and he gasped.

Sasuke looked at me and then motioned me to come outside. Something in his eyes told me this, whatever it was, isn't going to end well.

I followed those harsh, cold eyes outside and one minute he was standing in front of me. Then the next second, I was being choked against another wall.

Next chapter:

"Just who the hell do you think you are?" I said and pushed him away. He looked amused as if scum like me could talk. How I wanted to slap that smirk off his face.
