"Zab!" Andrea screamed as soon as the door of my apartment opened. She grabbed my sister into a tight hug which my sister gladly returned.
"Drea! I missed you!" She screamed while the two of them twirled around the living room. I can't help but laugh at the sight of my best friend and my sister acting like they're the ones who are related.
The three of us ended up having dinner together just like the old times. I miss being surrounded with these two, specially Zabrina. I miss sharing a room with her, waking up and going to sleep together. I love being with her again, but I still can't shake off the feeling that something isn't quiet right with her being here.
She looks so happy sitting here together with me and Andrea that I couldn't let myself bring up such a sensitive topic for the both of us.
"I'll be staying here for the night." Andrea suddenly declared and by the looks of it, I don't think I have any say to this.
"You know your sister is chatting with someone lately." She confessed to Zab, earning her a death glare from me.
"Really? Who? What does he look like? Do you have a picture of him?" She asked in a flash.
"Of course, she doesn't because she refuse to see him in person." I can't help but clench my jaw as my best friend ratted me out to my sister.
"Why wouldn't you want to meet someone who you really like?" Zab asked like I was the most stupid person in the world and maybe I am. I still can't imagine Matt's reaction if he sees me in my current stay right now. I know for a fact that he will be disappointed.
"You are not still insecure about your looks, are you?" she continued and I guess my silence was enough for her to know my answer to her question. she raised her hands up in defeat and frustration at me.
"Are you serious Zoe? You are not ugly. You are just not taking care of yourself like you used to."
"I told her the same thing millions of times, but we're still here." Andrea said as she was scarfing down one tub of ice cream.
"What do you think will happen if we meet? Even now that he haven't seen me, he's still MIA." I finally let out.
"Oh my gosh! You mean you're not in touch with each other any more?" Andrea asked. I don't exactly know what to say to them because I don't know what happened myself.
"I don't know. He hasn't replied to any of my messages since last Friday. I don't know if I said something that turned him off or maybe he really lost interest in me." I said burying my face into my palms, because my eyes are starting to water and I'm embarrassed that I'm crying for no concrete reason.
"Hey. Everything's going to be fine. Maybe, he's just busy with something or maybe, something happened. I'm sure there's a reason why he hasn't been contacting you." I know she's also going through so much right now, with Axel and everything, but here she is, still trying to be my rock at a time like this.
"Come on. Let's forget about 'em boys for the night and drown ourselves with ice cream, while binge watching rom-com movies." Zab said and that's how the three of us spent the rest of the night in our pajamas, on top of the cushions we laid on the floor, cuddled together in thick blankets with a tub of ice cream for each of us.
{Hey Matt. Good morning. You haven't been responding to any of my messages since last Friday. I don't know what's happening with you, but I'm getting worried, can you get back to me as soon as you can? Or at least tell me if I should keep waiting for your message?}
With all the thinking I did last night, I know I should make things clear between me and Matt. I sent him this last message, just to try one last time, and if he doesn't respond then that's fine, at least I know where I stand.
I got up from my bed and got in the shower, before I wake up Andrea. As the two of us got ready, I can hear rustles from the kitchen and I know that Zab is preparing breakfast. The three of us ate together and then we rode to work together leaving Zab at the apartment, doing who knows what.
"Gosh! I'm so hungry!" I exclaimed as I slouched down on my chair after I finished proof reading the script for the new volume of one of our comic books.
"Let's go CathCath!" Andrea said strutting to my desk. I was about to stand up from my chair when a pop up suddenly appeared on my screen.
{To Catherine Aragon, Bellena Madrid, Jake Matthews and Zacharia Hill. We will be having a meeting regarding the next volume of "TIMELAPSE" this afternoon at three o'clock in the afternoon at my office. Please prepare all the revised, finalized and proof read materials and drafts for the said project. Thank you. -Gavin Mitchel}
I guess I have something to distract myself with this afternoon, since I finished all the work I have to do, including the backlog I had.
We went to our favorite restaurant for lunch and I can't help but look at my phone in between bites, waiting for any message from Matt. I guess I'm just making a fool of myself with all this waiting.
"You're not going to receive any messages even if you look at that thing for the whole day." Andrea said as she was finishing her food.
"I know. Oh, by the way, I saw you talking to Axel earlier. What was that all about." I curiously asked, and her face immediately soured at the mention of his name.
"He was asking if I would go on another date with Xander." she said, making me raise an eyebrow at the absurdity of what she just said.
"Is he serious?" I asked and she at least gave a slight giggle at my expression.
"I guess I should be an actress since I totally convinced him and Xandra that I was having the time of my life with Xander last night"
"What did you say to him?" I asked her and she shrugged at me.
"I told him that I'll think about it. And he even told me to tell his right away what my decision is, so they could plan another double date." she said, finishing his cup of iced tea. The two of us stood up and walked out of the restaurant and started going back to the building.
"So, are you gonna go for it?" I asked as we were walking and she just shrugged her shoulders at me.
"I honestly, don't know what to answer him. I don't know if I even want to go on a double date with them. Even with Xander being a total sweetheart, I still clearly has feeling for Axel." She admitted and I know that there is nothing I can do at her situation, she needs to figure out the answers by herself.
Five minutes before three o'clock, I got up from my seat with all the materials that I needed for the meeting and went straight to Gavin's office. Kyla immediately saw me as I turned the corner and smiled at me brightly. Her intercom started ringing and she put it on speaker mode before typing away on her laptop.
"Yes sir Mitchel?" she asked and Gavin immediately responded.
"Did my phone arrived from the repair shop?" he asked in his deep raspy voice. Then me and Kyla noticed that everyone that is in the meeting is already here.
"Yes sir. It already arrived. I'll bring it in. Also, the team for TIMELAPSE is already waiting here for your meeting." She announced to him.
"Sure let them in." He answered before the line went off.
"Let's go in." Kyla said to us, standing up from her chair and leading the group to Gavin's office.
The meeting went quite well and everything has been finalized. We should be able to put the volume up for production this week. I really can't help but admire Gavin's work ethics. You can see the love and passion he is putting in his works and I honestly think that it makes him more attractive. The way that he keeps ruffling his hair and biting his lips, whenever he was concentrating on something, really distracted me from everything that he is saying.
"Good work everybody. You are dismissed." Gavin announced.
"You too sir." Belle said clearly wanting to flirt with Gavin but by the looks of it, it didn't work.
I started gathering all my materials and was heading out of the office together with the others after saying good bye to Gavin, but clumsy old me would not even give myself a break. I tripped over the rug in front his desk and dropped all paper I was carrying.
"Sorry sir. I'm such a klutz." I said putting down my phone on his desk and started picking up all the paper on the floor, and without any hesitations, Gavin helped me.
"Here." He said handing me a pile of paper that he gathered.
"Thank..." I stopped in the middle of what I was saying when I realized how close we were from each other. My eyes were drawn to his. His piercing brown eyes, looks like they were seeing all of me including my soul. He leaned in closer and closer and closer, making me close my eyes on instinct. I remained still. I wanted to move, but it was like my body is refusing to move even the slightest. It was like my whole being is waiting for this exact moment to happen.
Suddenly, I felt his breath on my lips and with just that, I knew our faces were only inches away. If we weren't already seated, I knew my legs would have already given in. I felt my face heat up as the feeling of his breath lingered on my lips, and I that's when I realized, I'm in so much trouble now.
