<p>The pile of papers seemed to increase the more time he spent there. But how could they not when the Council members hadn't touched any of the day's agenda. The files on his desk were the important matters that couldn't wait until the next meeting. The Matriarch was the one supposed to deal with them but as punishment for being late he had to go through all of them and submit them to her office by the next day. </p>

<p>He had promised to go back to Reyna immediately he was done with the meeting but with the extra work, that wouldn't happen anytime soon. Even if he had been given a choice Miran would still have chosen to handle the cases, he wasn't going to trust a demon with delicate issues concerning the Isle. Going home would just have to wait. </p>
