The sound of the birds awoken the dazed France who had his eyes barely open. The man turned to look at the window to see that the Sun had already risen so high. His mind was about to go haywire but it didn't as a smile started to creep into his sleepy features as he remembered what had happen last night. It was something he wanted to experience again, every night if fate would permit but he knew that he was asking for too much. Still, he can't help but yearn for it.
He realized that this was the first time since who knows how long that he has been able to sleep peacefully. He remembered how this felt. Waking up with no worries. Waking up from a proper and good sleep. How long has it been since he had this privilege? Not even France knew the answer but he knew that he could get used to it, again.
He slid his feet on his slippers and started to walk lazily towards the door. He walked out from his room and went down the stairs. He became even more alive as he saw that his living room was a little more, alive? He didn't know how to describe it. So much natural light was pouring in and every plant he had inside was so vibrant. Every huge window were open and there were new white curtains embroidered with patterns. His house for the first time looked, alive. Looked and felt like home.
"Senior, a pleasant morning to you." Rosalie roused France. The maid waited for a reply but did not receive any response thus she decided to look at his master and when she did, she saw him peacefully staring at everything. His face did not show any form of distaste or anything, it was something new to Rosalie.
"A-Ah Phoebe decided that we should give the house a little change senior, we hope that it is to your liking." Rosalie spoke. A small smile started to appear from France's face. He looked at Rosalie and patted her shoulder before walking past her.
"Do not worry Rosalie, I am fond of what you did." France spoke before walking straight to where his backyard was. He immediately felt the warmth of the Sun as soon as he stepped out from the shade of his house. He looked around and found the bushes and the grass freshly trimmed. He started to suspect that something might be wrong as everything, for the longest time had went well.
"Senior, your tea." France looked back and grabbed the cup of tea from Sasha. He mustered a quick thank you before walking to a tree where a small wooden set of chairs were arranged. He sat down and breathed out loud with his eyes closed.
"What a nice day" he thought.
He opened his eyes and took a sip of his tea. France hummed in approval of the taste before setting the cup aside on the table. He saw a book inside a small compartment under the table. It was one of which he still hadn't finished. He took it out and quickly scanned the pages to find for a bookmark as to where he last left. He saw the bookmark and immediately remembered how the book had went so far. He continued to read while occasionally sipping the cup of tea while enjoying the fresh air that smoothly caressed his exposed skin.
He was deep into reading the book when he heard one of his maid, Kara politely calling him.
"Yes?" He asked.
"Senior forgive me for disturbing you but Daniel is on the phone. He's calling to speak to you." Kara answered with an apologetic smile. She really did not want to disturb France for obvious reason. Even her and the other maids found this day a little to kind. Their master was okay and relaxed and this was the first time that they saw him like this.
"Ah, I'll handle it shortly. Do tell Phoebe to make another cup of tea? Also inform Jannette to make me some breakfast." France spoke before walking back to the living room where the telephone was.
"Daniel, what's the matter?" France spoke with a soft tone which caught Daniel off-guard.
"W-Well you didn't come in today, are you running late perhaps? Did something happen?" France noticed that Daniel was worried and that somehow made him feel a little happy that someone was still concerned about him.
"I'm not coming in today Daniel, I don't have anything to there and besides you're there to handle important things. Don't worry as well, nothing happened. I just prefer to stay home today." France answered while trying to reassure Daniel.
"Ah well I'm glad that you're taking a break from work. It's just that I didn't expect it to happen anytime soon since you basically live to work for the company. Well worry not, I shall handle things here on your behalf." Daniel spoke.
"Mmm well what can I say, it's been long overdue. Call me when things really needs my attention but if not then you know what to do. I wish you well Daniel, I don't want to comeback with my system in chaos." France chuckled while speaking.
"Aha, yeah yeah, I shall go now." Daniel spoke.
"All right, goodbye." France answered.
"A-And France, I'm glad to see you like this." France was about to answer but the other had already hang up. He smiled and looked at the telephone. He was about to set it down when he remembered that about Yvain.
"Should I call him? But what if he's busy? I don't want to intrude and disrupt his work. I don't even have anything important to tell him-"
"Hi this is Bels, Yvain's secretary. Who is this and may I help you?" France stopped arguing inside his head as he head someone spoke. He unknowingly dialed France's office which made no sense.
"Ah no, I just dialed wrong. My apologies-"
"Bels? Who's on the line?" France immediately stopped speaking when he overheard a familiar voice from the other side.
"Ah they dialed wrong-"
"Hello this is Yvain how may I help you? I know that "I dialed wrong" is an alibi, I've heard it quite a few times. Is there a problem you need help fixing with? If so you and my secretary can talk about setting a date as to when we can meet and discuss things. Is that okay?" France was unknowingly smiling while listening to Yvain speak.
"Yes, but I'd like you to come see me personally if that's okay?" France tried to ride along.
"Hmm, that will depend on how your discussion with my secretary will go. If you're case is intriguing to me then you'll see me in front of your door but if not then I'll refer you to one of my colleagues." Yvain spoke already bored with the conversation. He was about to hand the phone back to his secretary when he heard the person from the other line speak again.
"I am the case dear so I dare say that the case is intriguing." France spoke with him smiling.
Yvain's eyes widened and a smile immediately was drawn on his lips.
"France? Really?" Yvain spoke while chuckling while also grabbing a nearby chair to sit on.
"Well I guess you're intrigued now?"
"Ahaha well I guess you could say that" Yvain answered. Both of their day was already starting to get brighter and they could never ask for more, but they did and secretly asked fate if they could see each other again sooner.
