Chapter 5

"If you can use magic, why are you hiding it?"

"I'm shy so I don't talk about myself well to other."

"Yes. Everyone in the village, including me, knew very little about you. I couldn't protect this village with only my divine power, so I needed someone who could use sword skills, so I didn't ask what kind of person Aris was until now. You seem to have a lot of secrets, and if the villagers find out about them, you can leave."

"In other words, you no longer need me?"

Instead of answering, Lisel smiled.

"Where is the amplification medium you use when you use your magic?"

"What are you talking about..."

Aris missed, but lisel answered in confident voice.

"Should I even explain this? Whether it's magic stone or something else, it's a medium that amplifies magic so you can use magic. Where are you?"

"Well? Could it be somewhere?"

lisel snorted at Aris' words.

"Why can't you explain?"

"That wouldn't be it. I don't have an amplification medium, so I can't answer, right?"

"What do you want to say?"

"It's over, lisel. You are back."

A large man walked out in front of lisel.

"This is the commander of the Paladins of the Frost Church, Lakam."

"Commander?"

As if he wasn't interested in Aris' muttering, Lukam said in a solemn voice.

"Reveal your identity, the main ene my of the Order. It's existence itself is a sin, and this blasphemous and wicked being, worse than the devil, filthy Derkaid. I will punish you here."

Aris listened to what he said while hesitating, and eventually burst into laughter.

"There was no voice that couldn't be done with the party in front. Are you guys still hunting Derkaid? Do you know that Rashvallen? You were just accompanied."

"Do you admit that word is Derkaid?"

At Lukam, who listened to only the parts that he needed, Aris cried out in response.

"Does it matter if I admit it or not? You won't listen to what I say in the first place, do you? It's been like that ever since! I don't even want to listen to other people!"

But they didn't answer. He only swung his sword at Aris. They are all people I saw during the day. Those who worship the goddess came to do this under the pretense that they were relief supplies.

Derkaid.

All humans live under the protection of the goddess of frost. The goddess of frost, worshiped by humans as their huardian deity, gave her whispers through the saint so that humans could live in abundance and peace. Humans took it as a milestone and lived according to the advice of the goddess.

However, 100 years ago, existences that did not exist in the oracle of the goddess appeared. One of them is a monster that suddenly appeared 100 years ago, and what we call 'magic beasts' today. And the other were humans with wings on their backs that appeared around the same time. The Frost Church called them 'Derkaid' meaning 'unknown'.

The Derkaids were humans, but they were great wizards who could use powerful magic without being bound by the Frost Goddess and without amplifiers or mediation. Even the saints of oracles and proophecies who convey the voice of the goddess could not foresee their future.

Being who are human, but not under the feet of a goddess. For the reason, Derkaid was naturally rejected by the Frost Church, who did not like them, and those who feared those with unusual powers. Derkaid has been living in the shadows, revealing only a small part pf human society for 100 years.

Having a power different from others made it that much easier to take a dvantage of. Moreover, there were very few Derkaides. No matter how superior they were, they could not oppose the public opinion and power of the majority. In addition, extreme hardliners within the Order of Frost 'hunted' Derkaid in this way. Fortunately, recently, I wanted to take care of myself, but it seems that he was doing this secretly.

Aris clicked inwardly, although he refrained from using magic, he had no choice but to survive in a place like this. No matter how much you say you are, you can't go hunting with only a gun and a sword to a forest infested with monster.

It was only a matter of time until he was discovered by lisel, but even if his identity was discovered, there wasn't much the new goddess could do other than maintaining a barrier in a village in the middle of this magical forest. So I didn't really care, but I didn't know that lisel would bring the Paladins of the Church to this point.

"I just thought she was a good woman."

Aris smiled bitterly as he recalled the deeds of lisel, who worked with sincerity in the town's affairs.

"Yes, I help people. Because that is my mission to serve the goddess. But you are not human."

"I am human too."

"What color are your wings that stretch out from the feet of the Frost Goddess to the sky, Derkaid."

"I am human too..."

"Oh, let me thank you for one thing. As soon as I told you about your story from the main school, which had asked for help but ignored it with a bitter reaction, the Holy Knights immediately sent it to me. Thanks to you, I can get out of this town."

Lisel threw her cold eyes at Arin and raised her hand. As Lucam gestured one after another, the confrontation between the knights and Aris, who had been quiet for a while, continued again. Aris stopped the sharply flying sword and clicked his tongue. Using magic in the current state was self-defeating. If other people saw his wings, the price to be silenced would be great.

"Even so, an agent from Rashvalen came in here on the same day by chance, and it would be difficult for Rashvalen to be known as you say. So I sent him alone to the forest to die with you so as not to be disturbed, and he came back alive"

So, from that point of view, shouldn't we be suspicious of whether that woman is also Derkaid? I felt discriminated against. Aris slashed the blades loaded with swords one after another ang pointed a finger at Lucam.

"I'm sorry for explaining, but I have a question. Are you the only commander?"

"Yes. Since it's Derkaid hunting, I'm at the commander level myself..."

"no, no. Not that, I thought it would be quite frivolous to bring 20 elite knights to just one commander of the Knight Templar."

As Lukam was about to ask what that meant, something that looked like a can rolled over with a sharp metallic sound.

"?!"

For a moment, everyone in the room lost their eyes to it for a moment. It creaked open to the side and began to spit out smoke with fierce force. Far from distinguishing one inch ahead with tear gas in an instant, someone snatched Aris' arm and pulled him in, when everyone was drenched in tears anf runny rose because of the spicy smoke.

"Come over here!"

Although he did not know who he was or what his purpose was, Aris followed him as he ran without resistance to escape this crisis.

"It's okay?"

Even after coming out to place with fresh air, after running for a long time, Aris could barely see his face.

"Mirea, Kollock, Janester....?!"

Mirea handed a water bottle to Aris who asked, 'How in the world?' with a cough. after rising his face, Aris finally opened his eyes. Mirea was dressed similar to that of the day, with two sword around her waist and a pistol and several firearms in her arms.

The place where they are now was presumed to be under the village ridge.

"I'm glad it seems to be okay. The movement of the denominations was unusual, so I thought it was something like this, So I was undercover and that's good. Ah, I wasn't saying that this situation was going well, I was saying that my premonition was right."

Aris looked at himself and stared fiercely at Mirea, who nodded her head.

"What are you doing?! What do you mean?"

"No, I feel sorry for the person who rescued me earlier."

Mirea pointed at Aris with the tip of her sword.

"I didn't save you to do anything strange, so don't be nervous. Isn't it a bit difficult right now? I will help you."

However, Aris slashed Mirea's sword, which was gently shaking up and down, with his own sword.

"Why are you?"

When Aris threw away his polite tone, Mirea quickly changed her attitude and began to treat her with ease.

"You can't just sit and watch the Frost cults are hunting Derkaid. I must have forgotten, but I belong to Rashvalen. You know that's the abbreviation for Rashuon Intelligent Life Association, right? And Derkaids are intelligent creatures, aren't they? no? If yo don't have human-like intelligence, just leave it alone."

"I'm just helping out for that reason...."

"Only? What's wrong with people helping people?"

Even if it wasn't, there was something that bothered her, so Mirea asked with a frown, However Aris ignored Mirea's question as to whether it was a meaningless statement.

"So what can you do for me?"

Ar that, Mirea nodded and half-pushed her face over the mound. I could feel the movement of the knights as if the disturbing affect of the tear gas had dropped. Mirea sat down next to Aris again and looked at the terrain.

"I can drill a way out."

"No way out. It's not good to have witnesses. We must annihilate the knights."

At that, Mirea sighed heavily.

"I thought I was going to be like this, so even if I was alone, I forced myself to accompany the people of the church. Do you have to? Don't kill me."
