Just Another High School Story!

Just as she was about to make the worst, and possibly the last mistake of her life, Ethan ran towards her, his adrenaline through the roof, his mind went blank, and his muscles acted instead, he lunged towards her furiously, every cell in his body on high alert, and pulled her down, she fell with a trip, and he got a hold of her. She started fumbling around in his tight grasp, she was being obstinate but he wouldn't let her go. "Pah!" He slapped her so hard that her ears rung.

For a while, both of them stayed on the ground, she was in his arms, her brain went numb, she looked at him in disbelief, "Did you just slap me?" she asked, the question was delayed but delivered, and she broke free, slowly getting up she looked at her bleeding arm, the IV had been so forcefully pulled out that blood was oozing out, she felt sick, and her stomach wasn't fully recovered, due to the surgery, she felt a bit nauseous, she had been an absolute to pull a stunt like the one she just did, now she would have to deal with the aftermath, the consequences, her stomach was hurting again, her pain which she was obviously trying to hide, was clear on her face, in her eyes, as if written in words, and italicised, she felt like her world had crumbled.

She was truly tired, many times in life, no matter how old you are, the lows can be disheartening, you reach a point so low where you can't see a way out, you're enveloped in darkness, you've fallen into an abyss which you can't get out of, no matter how hard you try, then comes a time where you just sit back and give up, you try to recite all the happy quotes you know, you try to feign confidence, you try to pick yourself up but all for naught, the darkness seems to become your only abode and then the next thing you know, you grow comfortable in darkness, no matter how unhappy, you know change is going to be hard, harder than climbing a mountain that touches the sky, so you stay down, you stay fallen, you don't wanna get up. However, this is exactly the time to act, no one can come and rescue you, fortunately for Leah, Ethan came into her life on time, he came at a time when she needed a little help to see the light, but you mustn't wait for a shining knight in an armour, perhaps, at this moment, you will feel a bit weary of me, what am I doing contradicting my own story, but no, the story isn't over yet, so you need to see the battle fought to the end, to know you are your best knight.

You can expect help from the ones you love, but even Ethan can't change Leah unless she really wants to, it is a simple law, You clean up your own messes. If you won't see yourself differently, no one will, we see a reflection of ourself in other's eyes, they tell us what we're thinking about ourself, therefore, if you're happy and satisfied with who you are, the world can't shake you, but if you don't believe in yourself, then even if everyone placed you on a throne, you would not be happy or feel worthy. TRUE CHANGE BEGINS FROM WITHIN. Only you can rescue yourself from your abyss, others can help you when you take the first step, which is often the hardest step to take, and the whole process depends on this step, therefore, the process of rescuing you depends on you.

Ethan looked at her, his eyes furious, raging, his lips trembling, he was trying hard not to beat her, in that moment, she wasn't the girl he loved, she was an idiot, an idiot who didn't understand herself, who was giving up too soon. He dragged her to the edge of the rooftop, and he made her look at the lights, the road, the moving cars, "You want to jump, right?" he asked, pressing her wrist really hard, she didn't say anything, she became meek, as if a child who knew she had done wrong and realised the only way out of getting scolded or beaten, was to give in, to stand with her head down. "Go ahead." he said, and he pushed her away, "If you want to die, I won't stop you but before you jump, I want you to listen to me."

The thought of Ethan having something to say hadn't crossed her mind ever; of course, Ethan was at fault, and now he had something to say, maybe, she had been too hasty, could he actually give her a convincing reason as to why what he did could be forgiven or would this attempt at salvation become a joke?

Can a bully justify his bullying? Can the victim put herself in her assailant's shoes, usually, you'd have the bully do that, right?

This is a confrontation everyone wants to run away from, some answers will irk, and some surprise, but either way, we have a story to look forward to!
