"She'd broken under the pressure, in her letter she'd apologised to me, said it was too hard, she felt lonely sometimes, though she tried not to, me being away, and her having to take care of things alone, she said that she didn't want to think anymore, that it was too much for her, she just wanted to sleep, without any interruptions, she told me... no, actually begged, she wanted me to take care of her mother, she wanted me to stay true to myself, she was really selfish thought, I'd just started to find myself and that too because of her, she left me with no options, but I didn't stray, I had a responsibility, to become the man she wanted me to be, to take care of her mother as if she were my own, and so I did all that I was supposed to, I started talking to her mother, over the phone, of course, I needed to go back, I couldn't think properly except for when I was fighting with and for my brothers and sisters, and everyone, behind enemy lines. I started sending her money, ultimately, she accepted it, so like her daughter but for her daughter's sake, she did, I'd pleaded and then we'd both broken into tears, too many sobs and sighs, she was young and beautiful, her whole life ahead of her, and if she'd faced the difficulties life presents, maybe she'd have fallen in love with living-- the thing I regret the most is not being able to say goodbye, we hadn't talked in a long time, I should have known, but I didn't go, as soon as my heart cried out that her voice sounded less happier than the last time when we'd talked, I should've gone to her. Now, I regret it, I don't regret losing my limb, this is for my country, but I regret losing that girl, she was truly one of a kind." After Lucas finished, he wiped off his tears, and smiled at E, "Kiddo, you got me to say my story twice, I've never done that before for anyone. This girl must be special, take care of her, and you," he said pointing to Leah, "Take care of him! The last time he was here, when he heard this story, he was crying much more violently and he looked terrified, your life isn't a joke, no one can save you but you, if there's something going on, you can fix it, but you can't undo ending your life. That's something too permanent. And... someone else might have to pay for a decision you made. Even though he can be your strength, you can't let him shoulder all the weight alone, you've got be one unit. Work together and you can overcome any and all difficulties." When he finished, this time, Lucas nodded once to Ethan, who grabbed Leah and walked out of the room, he had his hood pulled up, he was still crying and so was Leah. When he started walking up the familiar flight of stairs that led to the rooftop, Leah panicked, what did E have in mind?
Ethan dragged her and pushed her out onto the rooftop, "If you still feel like doing it. Do it!" he said, and by 'do it', you know what he meant, I've written that word too many times now, and I hate it; I'll avoid using it where I can, so that the reader won't be too distressed .
His voice broke, immediately after he finished that sentence, he moved closer to the ledge barely holding himself up, he said finally, "If you want to leave, you can, but first, let me go. I wanna die with you. I can't live without you anyway, knowing that I caused all this." Leah's eyes, sparkled with tears, she pulled Ethan's hood down, and wiped his tears with her hand, then she kissed him... Ethan was so taken by surprise that he didn't make a single movement for a while, as she pushed her lips fiercely against his, he subconsciously held his breath, and after finally realising that it was happening, he grabbed her waist, pulled her closer to him, and kissed her like he'd never kiss anyone again. He'd had a crush on her since he first saw her, but that crush was disguised as peevishness and jealousy, but now that it had materialised, he could say it without a doubt, he was in love with Leah.
