Just Another High School Story!

Leah had started writing a lot more than just stories, she wrote literally everything, songs, poems, short stories, novels, quotes, she was supposed to share a poem of hers at the assembly, and she deiced to write one, about and to, Ethan, she would say it while looking into his eyes, though he might not want to meet them, but she would not even blink, their camping trip was coming up too.

One thing was happening after another, she was excited about graduation from high school, and getting into a college, she was almost sure she wanted to go to Oxford, she had more than enough credits to show but what really gave her the kick was that unlike other people, she had been extremely lucky to have found purpose, many wanderers were still looking while she was happy because of that purpose, she wanted to learn more, as much as she could, to celebrate her finding purpose, she was unsure what to do, she was not one to celebrate by taking a break, and popping champagne, she would rather use the time when she was in supercharge mode because of something to write well, and write happily, nothing came to her mind immediately and she went to bed disappointed, but as they say, your best ideas come from dreams, she had had a dream, a peculiar one, she was walking alone on a road, there was mist everywhere, she could not see anything, she had felt scared, it reminded her of the time when she was a wanderer too, the darkness seemed to be the same and on top of that, the road seemed to be dark too, with no destination, nothing to look forward to. No moonlight to light up the road, to show her the way, no stars whom she could talk to, she felt lonely, and cold, the dream seemed too long, almost like eternity was passing while she was walking around, doing nothing, then all of a sudden, the mist cleared up, the stars shone brightly and she realised that she was at the end of the road, she was walking on, this reminded her of a dead end, the time when she had been ready to take her life, she did not even want to think about it right now, she turned away, afraid, what if there was on way out, she looked around frantically and realised that there was another path, it had always been there, she had just been too focused on the one she was walking on, she could not have possible known if it was the her from before, the Leah that was unsure, this was the Leah that she had cultivated through hardwork, like iron, she had burnt herself, struck when the iron was really hot, the flames devouring her and leaving scars all over had helped cultivate something beautiful, the love and respect she had for this Leah was incomparable to the hate she had felt against herself before, she walked over to the other road, feeling confident, the other way was harder to take, but it was better, the obstacles were more, but there was a destination, after all the hardwork she would do walking on a difficult path, she would find something, something valuable. She was sure of that, to sure, and so she went to the other side, when she walked over, she felt like her feet wanted to give up, and go back, the dark path that she had been walking on seemed easier, painfully comfortable, by miles, thousands of miles, she could save herself the trouble of transformation, she knew change would not come easy, she had gotten used to being a bad main character, she could continue, let the story, her story waste away, finish itself, while all she did was cry, while all she did was walk without a destination, on the straight path, but she didn't want to go back, she decided that the pain would be worth it, and hence even though she felt stabbing pain in her feet, she walked it, taking each step carefully, the light on this road was brighter, she could see everything, not the destination, but the obstacles made it feel like she had a goal, she would get somewhere, she didn't understand when but after walking a couple of miles, she got used to the obstacles, and a couple more miles that passed made her forget the dark path before, now she enjoyed the obstacles, she realised that every obstacle she faced made her stronger, the pain that she had felt while crossing it was immeasurable but temporary, the pain didn't last, after the problem had been dealt with, the pain subsided, faded away, what remained was the strength, the confidence to do more, do more than anyone expected her to do, she realised that each obstacle made her feel like she could cross any obstacle, solve any problem, as long as she trusted the painful process of growth, it was like with every step, her legs grew longer, and stronger, the obstacles grew bigger as well, but so did her capacity to adjust, so did her mind, her heart, and her soul, after walking for what felt like eternity, maybe even longer than eternity, she saw that there was a little box, the stars were still constantly shining, there was no mist to blur her vision, she felt tired but strong, utterly strong, almost to the point of satiation, she unlocked the box, and she could see words there, there were words written on a paper, nothing fancy, just these words: "Live Life to Laugh and love."

She woke up then, to the sound of her ringing alarm, threatening to wake up the whole neighbourhood it seemed, the dream didn't return but the memory did, so significant, and memorable were those words that she wrote them down, and pasted them everywhere, her mirror, her bathroom, the fridge, she had been blessed with the quote and she wanted to make sure that everyone could feel blessed by it, so she shared it in her story, at first, she was nervous, but then it was well received, after the context of the story, the quote seemed relevant, deserved, expected! She could almost fly off the earth then, with gratitude glittering the wings, but she restrained herself, she wanted to become a writer, she would major in literature, and continue to help people and herself by writing, she would never know what could happen, all she knew was that the moments right now were perfect, why worry about the future?
