Mindy, Leah, Ethan, Erik, all humans have the same problems, we are used to wearing masks and have become faceless, baseless, we need to try, and restore the world where everyone had something to contribute, even a smile does the job; we can not let standards that society has set seize our soul which was designed to explore, to be restless, and look for more, these kids, they all felt like they were constrained by stereotypes, misunderstandings, bad habits, assumptions, peer pressure, appropriate behaviour, we survive in a prison, don't be an inmate for naught. You can breakthrough if you try.
To keep going, Leah had made up a theory, she believed that everything in this world has an opposite, nothing that doesn't have something contradicting it exists, therefore, every problem that she faced, and will face is solvable, every mistake could be corrected, excluding murder and crimes, for every line that runs through the middle of something, there exist lines that cross these, for every principle created in the world, a variable exists, equations can be altered, results can be changed, confirmed theories proved wrong, new species can be found while old ones cease to exist, though we know that nature has a cycle that allows life to exist, she believed that even that cycle had loopholes, miracles happened because even the most perfect thing has something imperfect about it, everything attractive has something repulsive about it, she called this theory, "The Theory Of Lifesitivity" she had written so much about it on her blog that her hands hurt, but she was happy.
Mindy was tired of the pressure and this was her breaking point, what had seemed like hers was slowly slipping away, and so she lost her mind.
The sun, finally set, another evening ended, and the birds started settling down, they are early risers after all, therefore, with the atmosphere settling down and adopting a dark hue, night arrived finally, and with nothing to announce its arrival, the moon, like the modest celestial being it is, appeared too beautifully, they couldn't wait for it, and now it was here. Oddly enough, though it had been done many times before, a confession of love, they still felt nervous, and their hearts beat like it was the first time.
The moments that had seemed painfully slow earlier, started to speed up, with nervous steps, and an excited heart, both the lovers staggered to their meeting spot, they wanted to meet near the top of the cliff, the one their teacher had warned them not to go to, they thought that it was fine, since they weren't going to do anything stupid, and also that that would be the most private place to express what each person wanted to, their minds empty, and their hearts full of emotions, they walked and saw each other from a distance... the nervousness, the excitement, the happiness and the indecisiveness of what the next moments were to bring, haunted them, yet the haunting wasn't scary once their eyes met... each one's filled with the desire to make things right, to become lovers again.
They ambled the raised stage that was probably dangerously perfect for a pledge, and sat down near the edge, their feet dangling. With hearts beating at a tempo busier than Bach's melodies, they began at the same time, "I...", interrupting each other. The stars had come out to witness the 'reunion' too, and so as the moon and the stars finally settled quietly, Ethan began again, "I wanted to say that I know it was my fault, I know it was wrong to be irrationally jealous, and get drunk that day, and I'm sorry about the words I used, about the tone, about the way I treated you, I know you're not a toy, and you were suffering, I know that we both weren't really in a relationship but you were tied up by my love, and even though I don't know your mind or your heart, I love you with all that I own, if Romeo loved Juliet more than life itself, I love you more than life, death, the multiverse, I love you so much that no word has yet been invented to express what I feel for and toward you. If you give me another chance, I won't tie you down, I'll help you fly and when you're tired, caress you and love you, I'll be there when the moon doesn't, and chooses to hide, when you feel alone, I will see all your sides, and won't run away. I want to be your true lover, Leah and so I want to say, with every mistake I made, I've learnt a lesson, I'll make mistakes in the future, I can't promise perfection, but I know you'll help fix them, you can, just like two rings locked, like people running in a circle, no matter what happens, I'll be drawn to you...", as Ethan was about to say more, Mindy laughed, she did not laugh though, she cackled, it was awful and eery, and they both got creepy vibes from that laugh, it meant trouble.
Leah turned around and he was already facing her, Mindy walked closer to them, and after she had broken one of the most beautiful moments of their lives, she tried to step on their hearts again. She pulled out her phone, and showed Ethan a photo expecting something to happen, E's expression however, didn't change, and he remained as disinterested as he was before, Leah couldn't see the photo but Mindy felt incredulous, here was proof that this bitch was really a slut, "You bitch, stop stealing shit from me!" she yelled, and obviously, her voice was too loud, with no one else speaking, she scared away all the sleeping birds, and the harmony of the moment, because they were standing at the edge of a cliff, you could hear her voice echo, the music of the wind died down, and so did the magical atmosphere that had been created, the tragedy was about to happen.
And it did happen. It happened so fast that Ethan felt like he died in that moment, he felt like everything he'd lived for was gone, he wanted to jump off the cliff too. But before he could make this beautiful love story into another great tragedy, the coach and the other kids arrived, alarmed by the situation in front of them, the commotion was over, so all that they asked was, "What happened?" Mindy was lying on the ground, crying, she wasn't... couldn't speak at all, on top of that, Ethan wasn't crying at all, rather, he seemed frozen in place, deathly still, his brain went blank, and after a couple of more unanswered questions, he passed out and his mind went blank.
