Just Another High School Story!

-- 2 YEARS LATER--

"Wait up, I will be right there." Leah was speaking on the phone; two years had already passed since their prom, and still the magic had not disappeared. When she saw him, she immediately apologised, "Hey, I hope you did not wait too long." They had just finished their Sophomore finals, they were going on their first real date in weeks, they had both been working their asses off at Yale, such a component college though, their eyes were bloodshot, tired from the studying, but it was time to breathe fresh air again, they were going to walk around, there was a beautiful park that had just been built near Campus, and all the students, especially the ones who were dating went there. It was the perfect place to 'de-stress' and recharge.

After coming to Yale, it was harder to be together at all times, as students in different majors, especially, but still, they had all the fun in the world, and didn't bother each other much. They did not want their relationship to get in the way of grades or their careers, he understood that she needed to hang out with other "Lit Majors", and she understood that he needed to associate with all music majors, though one good thing was that Leah was minoring in music, and Ethan helped her all the time with it. That way, they got the time to be with each other, and also study. It was perfect.

For the most part, Leah was playing volleyball, writing novels, studying and she was really busy, working out, eating well. Bulimia had left her, it had not come easy in any way, but it had left, the struggle was over, and now it was all about working out to become stronger, and she felt tough, and working out had become fun, she was dancing nowadays and singing as well, she had made a lot of friends at college, she was into learning K-pop choreographies, and it was almost too perfect. She had her man by her side, and college was going great, Ethan was playing too, in the volleyball team, and they practiced together sometimes, like old times, the perfect start and the reset she had longed for, it was finally hers.

They strolled in the garden and talked about dorms and their fraternities, shared stories, and the best part was that there was no tension anymore, they had started to get to know each other so much, that they were like best friends rather than a couple, it was easier to trust her, it was easier to understand him, past fears were past fears, and their future was looking bright, at this rate, they would marry each other, they had seen quite some tough times together. Now, they were at a point in their relationship, where even if someone did wrong, it was easier to talk things through, before exploding, but that did not mean that they didn't ever have fights, their fights were famous in the college, they would not sleep without resolving their fights though, and recently, through Leah's new novel, she had tried to shed light on how important it was to talk about the little things, then a movement had started, people were positing things on social media, and writing real caption, like if someone posted the pic of a coffee mug in a cafe, and they were alone, they shared their true feelings, she had read multiple captions, and in the college cafeteria, they had pasted those real captions after printing them, the wall looked beautiful, and she had calligraphed the words, "Realistic, Lifesitivistic" with her own hand, the wall was seriously beautiful, people were now talking about how they really felt, when someone asked, "How are you?", the responses weren't the automatic 'I'm fine'. Rather, more sentences were added each day, "I'm no really fine, I failed that test, and it sucks, I feel useless." "The pressure is kinda killing me." "I know we are all going through the same thing here, but it sucks extra today." and slowly, every thing became more real, drilled-in responses disappeared, interesting conversations were stuck, depression rates went down, people weren't just a statistic anymore, every one was paying more attention, to mental health, to important social issues, to being more real. Her goal was reaching new heights everyday.

Their was just one thing that she regretted, she had not been able to see Mindy, she wanted to know how Mindy was doing now, no matter how big the wound, time heals all, she had forgiven Mindy completely, she was jus glad that she was alive. We don't know sometimes... not just sometimes, rather, we do not know at all how our lives are going to turn out, you should not keep it in, if you feel frustrated, let it all come pouring out, you are scared something will not work out, share that fear, you are responsible for your life, you can turn it around, suicide and death are not the answers, I know you are curious to know what your full potential is, it will be hard and it will be easy just like ocean waves, crashing against each other, if you listen to them for a while, it sounds pleasing but those sounds are sometimes scary too, too scary almost, so much that you can possibly pass out, but you won't, you are unique, the only you in this world, you might feel alone, but you have you, and the power to make yourself the best version of yourself, always believe in yourself, even when you feel down, try to remember Leah's quote, "My castle was built on the ruins of my scars, that is why it's strong and stunning!"
