28. A Little About The Truth

"Wow gorgeous," Zoa said in awe as soon as she was behind the other Lucas mansion. Does this guy like flowers? The mansion in Morristown behind it has a flower garden and here is also a flower garden. You could say it's much more spacious here than Morristown. Look. Even here there are a lot of various flowers that Zoa has never seen, but honestly. They are prettier than any flowers Zoa has ever seen before.

Zoa approached one of the flowers that had just bloomed. Some of the other. are still beautiful bud beside him. Wow. Do they plant flowers at a measured distance? Look. The flowers are growing very neatly. Ah, Zoa is more and more fascinated by their beauty.

"Who planted them? Was there a special maid assigned to plant them? If so, he is very good at planting." He muttered who was again mesmerized by the beauty of the beautiful flowers.

It was enough. Zoa took a seat on a chair in the middle of the garden. Maybe it will be comfortable if he reads a book and inhales the smell of flowers in the middle of his reading. Oh, it must be very comfortable. He then began to open the first page of the Koran. Just think. He will feel the fragrance of the flowers around him while reading the book.

While not far from the whereabouts of the girl in a closed dress, someone was staring at her from her bedroom window. He smiled smugly to find the girl who loves to read books. Doesn't he get tired of seeing a series of writings on white paper like that?

The man shrugged his shoulders before finally closing the curtains on the bedroom window.

Zoa continued to read her book solemnly. He likes reading. It would be better if he prefers to read the Qur'an instead of reading other books, right? It will increase the reward for him. No. Not that other books are useless. Precisely with the existence of other reading books can add to our insight about something. But for the Muslim community, it seems, the Qur'an is still the best of any book and there is a reward value in it that cannot be found in other readings.

He turned his head when suddenly someone sat beside him.

"Hey, you're still sick. Why did you come out?" he asked looking at the man with the cold face and the ever-tight jaw next to him. While the man just looked at him briefly then turned his gaze forward. Hey. Zoa feels neglected now. The truth is, he was worried about the man's condition but instead he was ignored. Irritating.

Zoa continued to stare at the man in silence after previously closing the book. The man ignored him? He doesn't care. What he cares about is his health, not his flat expression and cold speech that can always make anyone afraid of him.

"I'll get you some water and your medicine. You haven't fully recovered yet." He said then wanted to leave. But his hands were grabbed until he sat back down. He looked up at the man. What is it?

"I want to say something about Iko." Said the man who also looked at Zoa. He glanced at his hand which was still gripping the Muslim girl's arm and then immediately released his grip. There's no way he could talk with his hand still on the girl's arm, right? He then averted his gaze. Meanwhile, Zoa was silent. He waited for the man to continue.

"I killed him."

Zoa flinched at this man's statement. He had asked before. The man simply replied 'Yes. He thought Lucas only saw Iko on his motorbike and ignored him, but why did he just tell Zoa the truth that he killed Iko? But then Zoa nodded in understanding. Lucas was a man who never played with his opponents. Of course, he will take their lives because it has disturbed his calm and also removed the traces of his actions.

Zoa gave a forced smile. Why when Lucas said that there was a tightness in his heart? He felt that he was running out of oxygen in his heart. Why is it so congested?

"Should I thank you for killing the person who tried to kill me?" Zoa asked softly. He still showed his smile even though his heart was racing against the tightness that was so real. He chuckled.

"Why do I ask? I should be thanking you. And sorry for bothering you." He continued and averted his gaze. His eyes were sore.

"He asked me to kill him."

One more fact that makes his heart even tighter. Why is this? He felt lost now. Iko is the one who always saves her. He hadn't even apologized and thanked the man.

Zoa wiped the tears that had just escaped from her eyes. "Why did he do that?" she asked trying to hold back a sob. He still saw the flower bed on his left.

"He just doesn't want to see you hurt more if you find out he was the one who shot you yesterday."

Enough. Zoa couldn't hold back her tears anymore. His sobs deepened remembering Iko's smiling face in front of him. The man who always helped him from being chased by people in black. The man who always treats his wounds after surviving their pursuit. That man.

For some reason, Lucas immediately took Zoa's body in his arms. He could not bear to see the sadness of this girl in his arms. Do you know? This was the first time Lucas hugged someone to soothe his sadness. I don't know. He doesn't know why it just happened. He just stood there doing nothing.

"Why is he so stupid? If he apologized I would have forgiven him. Why did he ask to be killed, Luc? I will forgive him." Zoa said in Lucas' arms with the hand that kept hitting Lucas' chest weakly. Meanwhile, Lucas just didn't respond. Doesn't when people cry they just need to be heard?

Zoa was still crying in Lucas' arms, and Lucas was still in his position. Silence without wanting to say a word to just calm the sadness that Zoa felt.

"Sorry. I dirty your clothes with my snot." Said Zoa who had just escaped from Lucas' arms. He pointed at Lucas's wet chest with his cute blinking eyes.

Lucas then looked down at what the girl was pointing at. Gosh. That's right. It was wet and there was a clear, slightly viscous liquid. If Lucas wasn't a quiet person, he would curse Zoa all the time for soiling her clothes with that damn snot.

"You're disgusting." He said and stood up from his seat wanting to leave this Muslim girl immediately. But hearing Zoa's loud laughter he sat back down. Staring at the girl was full of intimidation.

"I thought you would say those words. It's funny that I was right." He said and laughed again. Gosh. Why does he change so easily? He had just been crying for a minute and now he was laughing? Aish. Are all women like him? If so, it must have made the people around him feel strange. Just like how Lucas felt right now. He just looked at Zoa with one eyebrow raised with that sadistic look.

Zoa stopped her laughter. Then looked at Lucas. "Sorry. I missed it." He said then covered his mouth which was almost about to laugh again. Lucas then looked away.

"I'll clean it up. I'm sorry again." Zoa said then wiped Lucas's wet shirt with her handkerchief.

Lucas. The man just silently watched Zoa who was painstakingly wiping his wet shirt. Without realizing it, his lips curled into a faint smile. Of course, Zoa wouldn't know that.
