Up in the dining hall, crowds filled the lines of the multiple kitchen stalls, waiting for their turn to grab a meal. Folks socialized with their acquainted folks, and wielders were practicing small skills -aside from the ones making havoc with others just for a good laugh. There was a boy playing with fire, moving a single flame from one finger to the others and back. There was a girl blowing breeze at her friend, making her hair drift subtly behind her neck while she took a picture of herself. There was a little boy snapping his fingers and making his peers dance. I didn't know how old he was, but I saw that as incredibly impressive. And then, there was me. I stood by the wide one-way glass wall, admiring the lively atmosphere.
Despite the crowd of people in this room, it was too big to feel claustrophobic, even for me. I turned around and looked out the tall windows, down at the ground. I wondered why it was like this.
