[62] Into the City

Faye sat near the back in a window seat on the left side of the second bus. Ashley had already called dibs on the seat beside her, and they talked for half the period in which the others settled in, and look possession of the equipment placed on each seat. It turns out the items Ethan and Leith put on the buses were simple equipment - a pen and a small notebook, a pocket knife, a flashlight, a lighter and some matches, and batteries. Faye put them into her little black leather sack, and Ashley began to play with them before being scolded by Leith -who told her there was to be no lighting of fires on the bus. Ashley was such a tease. She loved agitating people, and somehow Faye liked it. She was spicy.
