[99] Heart of Gold

Ethan stumbled his way across the battlefield, slicing Seguidores into bits of electricity and dry bones, swiping the air from people’s lungs and clouding the vision of troops heading right at him. He stumbled over a body, not caring much whose it was, but something made him turn back to take a longer look at it. Maybe it was the blonde hair, drenched in blood, or the lightly tanned skin, but Ethan knew it was Ashley. His mind flashed over to Faye, wondering if she knew and thinking that she must have been devastated and all the more pissed. He continued fighting.

Faye found Leith, struggling to get free from under four lost souls, and she burnt them off of him, hearing them scream as they hit the floor and attempted to out themselves –they couldn’t.

“Leith!” she shouted. “I think I found your dad!”

“What!?” he asked her, constantly switching his gaze between his journal page and her. “Where?”
