Abigail was pinned on the wall by a strong man, and she felt a sharp pain in her arms. “Let go of me. You are hurting me.” Tears started accumulating in her eyes, but she still stubbornly looked at the man’s eyes in a challenging way.
The man leaned over her. Their faces were inches away, and his hot breathing was fanning on her cheeks. There were many emotions in his deep green eyes which Abigail couldn’t decipher. After a span of silence, Charles opened his mouth and said, “You are not going anywhere. You are now mine; mine to love, and mine to torture.”

After recuperating in the hospital for a few days, Owen was discharged. He arranged a family dinner. David and Maya were also invited. The hall was filled with the chatter and laughter of the people. 


Abigail was getting ready in the bedroom. She wore a beige high low off-shoulder dress. She was checking her makeup when Xander came and hugged her from behind, keeping his chin on her head. 


They looked at each other in the vanity mirror and exchanged smiles. 


Abigail blushed at his compliment, and her eyes glided down on the floor, “Thank you.” 


Meanwhile, his eyes landed on the small diamond heart on her chest. Xander’s expression froze to see it. He turned her around and checked the necklace carefully. 


“Do you remember it?” Abigail inquired with a smile on her face. 


Xander was still amazed. He never expected her to keep that necklace until now. He took the heart-shaped pendant in his palm and rubbed it with his thumb.
