Chapter 17 : Eye Of The Tiger

Inside the ruins, Allen was cultivating serenely and he repeatedly tried to probe his body for any noticeable changes.

He checked every isle, meridian and his entire sea of consciousness thoroughly to ensure that no damage was done and no unnecessary alterations were applied. He also wanted to probably understand the reason behind the emergence of the white glowing orb which initiated the mechanism.

Although Allen was in a petrified state and unable to judge accordingly after being stripped of his sensation and inspection ability, but even without it he could instinctually guess the origin of the orb.

It's just that the idea of having something inside himself which he has no control, recollection or understanding tensed and irritated him.

Allen moved the 16 cycle inside his body and eventually replenish his lost powers but as he was circulating the powers through his body he felt an anomaly, somehow he could actually complete 12 times the 16 cycle!

'How can this be? I just advanced to 9 times, few days ago and I gained three extra cycle worth of energy in a day. This has to be something to do with this incident!' Allen was confused but also excited at this revelation.

Increase in cycle circulation are proportional growth indicators of his powers. The Bloodforce movement in the isle and meridian points, the chakra in the chakra pathway points and the soul force accumulation. The number of cycle and the level of cycle circulated in his body represents his growth in all these three aspects.

Per say, if he breaks through the bottleneck of 16 cycle and is able to accumulate enough energy to perform the 32 cycle then he would achieve a significant leap in all his ability.

His hindrance and inability to cultivate any fourth in the path of Battleforce would also not stunt him. This means as long as he advances in his cycle circulation his path would also keep on clearing but the problem is that the, cycle is directly proportional to the energies in his world. The situation of his cycle pulling his three forces is really unusual.

Allen tried to think hard about the reason of this extremely welcomed outcome, and the most obvious answer is the either the odd orb or the..

"Book!" Allen subconsciously touched his chest and caress the book pressed inside his clothes. The book is definitely a magical item with unbelievable ability which he has no understanding off.

"I can guess all I want but it doesn't matter. If the book theory is correct then the only thing that matters is the ability to increase my growth rate is real. As long as I have this book, it can push my growth rate to a whole new level." Allen was finally euphoric and thought that this endeavor wasn't so bad after all.

....

Few moments ago, outside the Magus Tower Ruin.

"Boss did you feel that?" All of the mercenary immediately gathered together abandoning their works of setting up camp and securing the parameter.

They came together right before their leader to discuss the disturbance they perceived. Just few moments ago as they were setting up the camps to rest the night and hunt for some games, they felt a tremor and the ground shook slightly.

"Yes, this is definitely abnormal and must have something to do with the Tower!" The leader commented and looked at the ruins in contemplation, he could could feel the disturbance coming from there.

"Boss, Do you it has something to do with that kid who went inside? Maybe he did something or triggered a trap to destroy the floors?" The lackeys asked as they formed different theories.

"That isn't possible! The Tower is being research for a long time, there is no such traps and the floors are extremely sturdy!" One of the researchers chided in, as this phenomenon triggered the interest of everyone.

"Maybe? Maybe he got something from there, like a hidden treasure or something." One of them spoke this preposterous argument with a hushed tone. Others looked and identified him as the same man who was ignored and irritated by Allen.

"Yeah sure!" The leader laughed hysterically and he spoke in sarcasm at his group mate, he shook his head and continued, "I reckon it's nothing but let's just wait and ask when the kid come out and if there is anything then we would just..!"

The Leader didn't complete the sentence but the dripping bloodlust was far too obvious as others smiled coldly. No matter how civil they may try to act, a bloodthirsty mercenary who lives in these parts filled with dangers can never change his true nature.

Although the chances are extremely slim about Allen possessing something valuable, because this place has been ransacked for treasure on numerous occasions but they wouldn't mind searching him to make sure they don't miss out on anything.

Allen is an anomaly and his presence itself was weird for others. Judging from his outward appearance which exuded a sense of mystique in turn made them curious.

If nothing else then they wanted to extinguish their curiosity surrounding Allen's presence.

The group therefore decided to wait for a while and observe the gate, some also started to lit fire and enjoy their meal as they keep a look out for the kid who may become their target.

The Mercenary group who has reached B-Rank such like them won't act very greedy or petty in front of their clients because they have a reputation to keep.

So as long as Allen agrees to let them check him and the profits aren't much they won't act viciously. Currently they even have the support of the researchers to make sure Allen don't take some valuable things away.

It's laughable that these researcher act like scholars but deep inside if they get a chance to acquire something or gain the glory of publishing about groundbreaking findings, then they won't hesitate to turn a blind eye to Allen's plight.

They waited patiently till they alertly noticed the emergence of a thin figure with a gloomy aura surrounding his face.

They readied themselves some even licking their lips in anticipation. The 'hater' of Allen and another mercenary went forward to intercept and check him. When they saw him, Allen also noticed then especially their burning gaze.

'What do they want? They surely don't have kind intentions. Hmmm...now that I think about it, they have also seen me come here. Although the likelihood of secret of the book being revealed is minimal, but I should definitely not leave an evidence behind especially when they are throwing themselves at me.' Allen thought and he smirked evily, He knew that in the future he would definitely make some waves and the chances of someone connecting the dots of his power to this ruin exploration albeit low isn't impossible.

It's best to erase all tracks and since, the mercenaries want to jump at him, Allen has a perfectly good reason to eradicate them.

"Hey you snot nosed brat, come here. This place is a tourist spot under the protection of mercenaries of the Yruen Port. We need to check you to make sure you didn't steal anything." The mercenary shouted in disdain as he called Allen over, he wanted to punish this kid for sometime and now he had the chance to vent.

Looking at him, Allen smiled and he slowly went towards him.

Each of his steps were taken extremely slowly and the leader couldn't help but frown when he saw Allen's confident face accompanied by an indifferent gaze.

Allen stretched his right hand towards his waist and rested his fingers on the sword hilt, the leader flinched but the two mercenary didn't react.

"It's easy to shout at a far away lion and feel like a conqueror but when the lion meets the man, only then the mortals know that he jinxed himself and he understand the disaster he has awaken."
