Chapter 84 Things were now confusing

After Bella leaving, Luna walked towards their bedroom to talk to Graham. She wished he accepts. On reaching, he was not there and she predicted that he might be in his study and true to her guess, he was there and he seemed to be engrossed in some work. She walked to his back and encircled her arms around his broad shoulders and asked," What are you doing?" "Passing through some things. How are you?" he asked. "I'm fine. Why don't you rest? It's late," she told him.

"Soon," he said and resumed his work. "I want to ask for something." This caught his attention and his fingers that had been stroking the laptop keys paused as he looked at her and said," Anything."

"I-I was thinking that we could go out on an evening date with Bella and.... Ethan," she said. He kept quiet for a while and asked," You want to go?" "Yes, I would like to," she said and he nodded before saying," Sure. We shall go. When?" "Tomorrow evening," she answered and he frowned before saying," It's okay though I had plans for us tomorrow. But I can postpone them to Sunday."

She smiled at him and said," Thank you for agreeing. I will inform Bella immediately."

"Anything for you," he said and resumed his work when she left. He didn't want to associate himself with that man and definitely not being friends with him. But he couldn't refuse her. Luna called and informed Bella who became excited about tomorrow.

The next evening, Luna and Graham decided to dress casually since it was evening.

They reached the hotel and were taken to their reservation. After a few minutes, the others also arrived. "Are we late?" asked Bella hurriedly as she approached them and they joined on the table.

"No, we had also just arrived," answered Luna and she said," Ethan, it's been long. How are you?" "I'm okay. How are you," he said.

"Uhm..I didn't get the opportunity to introduce you two last time given the circumstances but Ethan, this is Graham Cullen, Dylan's father and Graham, this is Ethan Carter my former boss and also a friend," Luna introduced the two. "Nice meeting you Mr Cullen," Ethan said. "Nice meeting you too, Mr Carter," replied Graham. Both men gazed at each other and the women didn't miss it.

Bella called the waiter and each gave their order. After sometime, the food came and they silently ate there food. After dining, Bella decided to initiate a conversation that could involve all of them at the table and she said," I was thinking of inviting both Ethan and Graham for an interview at Roman Agency. What do you think Luna?" "I think it will be of huge help to the company. Isn't it Graham?" Luna tried bringing him into the conversation.

"Yes. I'm available so long as I'm free," he said.

"Thank you Mr Cullen. I'm sure Ethan also is readily available," said Bella.

After sometime, the atmosphere didn't seem to lighten up and Bella tapped on Luna before saying," We are heading to the washroom. We are coming back soon." Both men gazed at their women as if checking if they were fine as they left for the washroom. When they left, the atmosphere became dead silent as the two men didn't seem to be interested in conversing. Graham got his phone and began playing games to pass time. Suddenly, he heard Ethan saying," You don't seem to be so fond of me Mr Cullen." Taking a while to reply, he later said," I find your statement to be ridiculous Mr Carter." "And why is that?"he asked. "You shouldn't play dumb with me. You know what I mean," said Graham and Ethan nodded his head in approval. He clearly knew what he was talking about. Taking a deep breath, he said," I made a lot of things in the past that I regret of Mr. Cullen. Are you going to tell Luna?" "That is my business," he answered and resumed being on his phone. Ethan decided not to speak anymore and he also got his phone.

At a certain corner, the two women were peeking at them and Bella said," I think they are done." "You think it will work?" asked Luna and Bella replied,"I'm certain. Let's go back now." With that, they walked back towards the table and joined them.

After a few minutes when they came back, they decided to head back home and both couples retired for the night.

When they reached home, Bella excused herself from Ethan and on reaching a secure place, she played the voice notes she had recorded. Earlier when Bella and Luna excused themselves to go to the washroom, it was just an excuse to get a conversation between these two men since Bella left her phone at the table on voice recording which the two men would never guess. They saw them talking when they peeked which meant that they had gotten something. And after hearing the conversation that took place between the two men, she frowned. On listening to the first piece of the conversation, Bella was certain that Graham was just jealous but she doubted it could be that after hearing Ethan ask him if he was going to tell Luna. Tell her what? What did Ethan do to Graham? Things were now confusing.
