On one afternoon, Ciara was in her room surfing about abortion effects and she read some women testifying that they failed to conceive again after their cervix got damaged. She couldn't deny the fact that she was very nervous since she was having it tomorrow but she was never changing her mind. She placed the phone down and decided to take a short nap when she heard a knock on the door.
"Who is it?" she asked. "Miss Ciara you're needed by your parents downstairs," said the maid from outside the door. "Okay, I'm coming," she said and got up from the bed then changed to decent clothes before making her way to meet her parents. She reached the sitting room and she was told to find them in the study room. It seems the situation was serious. She opened the door and entered but she was shocked to see Vikram in there with his parents. What was he doing here? "Close the door securely," instructed his father and she did as told.
"Take your seat," he said again and she sat down before he asked," You know him?" He was implying Vikram and she answered," Of course." He then nodded and said," Good."
She wasn't understanding what was happening. "Ciara," her mother called her and she directed her attention towards her and she continued," Are you pregnant?" Ciara's face instantly became pale and her lips trembled. "Answer us Ciara, are you pregnant?" demanded her father and she replied," N-no. I'm not." His face frowned and he said," Fine. Let's call the doctor then." After that, he reached for his phone to call the family doctor but she said," I-Its not necessary. I am pregnant." She didn't want to prolong this because they were going to find out anyway. With that, he placed back his phone and looked at her before asking," Who's the father?" Her eyes moved and looked at Vikram who gazed at her steadily without averting his eyes away and she lowered hers back to the floor. She inwardly cursed,' That bastard, this is exactly what he wanted.' That eye contact was enough to answer their question. "Okay then, that is sorted. Are you planning to abort that child?" asked Mr Roberts and she snapped her eyes to look at him surprisingly. Just how did they find out? She knew that her parents were the conservative type and therefore something like abortion to them was terribly bad. "O-ofcourse not. I would never think of something like that. Where did you get that?" she asked and Vikram smiled. Just what he wanted. "So when were you planning to tell us?" asked her mother and she said," I was going to tell you just that I hadn't gotten the courage yet." Silence prevailed in the room before her father cleared his throat and said," Okay. Since you entered this well knowing then let's talk about the wedding." "Wedding?!!!!" she stood up as she exclaimed. "Yes. Did you perhaps think that you're going to raise the child alone when the father is more than willing to marry you?" asked Mrs Roberts and Ciara couldn't believe it.
"B-but I don't love him," she said and her father lost his cool then stood up before asking," Why did you sleep with him then? Is this how we raised you? Who do you love then? Graham?" When she nodded, her mother intervened," Are you out of your mind Ciara? That man doesn't love you and perhaps he himself mentioned that he has a son. You're getting married, period. My grandchild must have a complete family." She couldn't believe it. Her parents were ganging up against her.
After a while, Vikram said," Uhm... Mr and Mrs Roberts as I said earlier I don't care if Ciara doesn't love me. What matters is that I love her and I will take good care of her. I will make sure that she and my child don't lack anything." "I've always been knowing this. Since you were just teenagers, I saw the way you always took care of her, you always brought her back home when she was drunk and I always called her blind because she failed to notice you and she situated all her attention to someone who never took her serious. So yes Vikram, you're the one man I can hand Ciara to without any doubt because I know how much you love her," said Ciara's mother. Vikram smiled and said," Thank you Mrs Roberts. Your words mean a lot to me."
"Okay Vikram. Which kind of wedding do you want?" asked Mr Roberts and he replied," Anything Ciara chooses, I will go with that."
"I don't want any wedding," she said before she left the study room greatly angered. "Don't mind her. I will make sure to it that she agrees. I want to thank you for loving her wholeheartedly. I know Ciara is not an easy girl but deep down, she's a good person," said Mrs Roberts and Vikram nodded before saying," You shouldn't thank me. And I know her so well."
