March 19th, 0001:
After waking up today, I go straight to work moving all of the parts of the bed I had made last time into one of the already built homes to try and get some RP. While I was doing that though, it suddenly dawned on me that even if I did make 13 beds for everyone else in the settlement, I would only be able to get 65 Rp, which added to my 95 RP points would only add up to 160 RP, 15 off from what I needed.
And while I certainly could try to figure out something else to help change the lives of the other people in the settlement, I couldn't risk not being able to accomplish it until my time was up. Leaving me with no other choice, I knew that my only way out now was to get nomads to join the settlement to get RP points from them.
And while I could have just waited normally and probably eventually gotten some nomads to find the settlement by chance, I wasn't willing to take the risk. The plan was simple enough; since I knew that all animals were most likely going to head towards a water source at some point in the day, I would set up two spots with rotten cooked meat from the snake that we had leftover right next to the river. With the meat being in a box with holes, the nomads would only smell the food but not eat it.
That way, nomads would be attracted by the smell of the meat and stay for a drink by the river, giving me time to catch up to them and getting them to follow me by offering meat that wasn't potentially poisonous. As for what I would do if the food attracted a predator, I would just kill it; after all, although we had gotten used to hunting and eating cooked Suri, eating other types of meat wouldn't hurt.
Plus, clearing the area near the settlement from predators was only a good thing. So, I got to work and managed to get everything set up in about 27 minutes, and thankfully none of the people already in the settlement were attracted by the smell of the meat. Apparently, their stomachs had started to get used to the somewhat stable schedule we followed when it came to food. Plus, that fact that we had just had lunch may have helped.
Regardless, from there, I just spent the rest of the day running from one of the 'meat boxes' to the other in the hopes of finding any nomads. Still, to no avail, I eventually gave up when I saw that Fransisco had begun to cook some of the meat I had collected to eat lunch.
Honestly, although I was slightly disappointed, I had managed to kill one puma, two snakes, and a jaguar today, so it was not a total waste. Although I could have continued, I still had to get to work on the beds so I could secure the RP points I could get from them; as for why I hadn't received any yet, it was probably because the person in the room I had installed the bed hadn't used it yet.
From there, I did the same thing as yesterday and worked with Omar to make another leaf 'blanket' after collecting the leaves needed to make another mattress and finishing a pillow. Unlike before, Omar seemed to make better leaf 'blankets' than last time even though I hadn't taught him anything. Meaning that he had probably observed the leaf 'blanket,' I made and corrected him based on it; there were still a lot of errors though.
Regardless, eventually, we had everything done except for the mattress, so I just moved to the area between the soccer field and the eating area that no one used because their back hurt too much when they sat down and set up the second be there.
The plan was to just sleep outside until everyone in the settlement had a bed in their house; why? Simple, it was because although I could have just gone into the house that I installed the first bed in and taught the person there how to use a bed, it felt kind of wrong to do that, especially since I was trying to push the idea that people's homes were their safe space.
Plus, by sleeping outside on my own, not only would everyone figure out how to use a bed on their own, but I would also probably look forward to doing so as it was human nature to desire what we don't have. As long as it didn't go against our morals, of course.
March 20th, 0001:
As I woke up today, I suddenly heard the voice of the system once more.
"Congratulations, host, you managed to let a human enjoy the joys of comfortable sleep."
'5 RP, I assume?'
"That would be correct, host; I do have to warn you though; you should probably try to speed up; otherwise, you might not meet your goal."
'I know...'
After that, the system once again went away, to my surprise though it seemed to have gone completely back to normal, which was nice, plus now that I had confirmed that beds could give me RP, I immediately got my lunch and continued on my hunt for nomads nearby hoping to have better luck today.
The thing basically went the same as yesterday. I was beginning to get tired and consider calling it a day even though I hadn't even had lunch yet, until eventually, as I was making my final jog in between the two points I had set up, I saw the shadow of what seemed to be a group of small people. I immediately began to speed up with a stick of cooked Suri in hand.
