Furthermore

Dyn was an ordinary person, with an ordinary routine. He woke up, went to work, stopped by the store, and returned home to repeat the same pattern again the next day. There were two things that kept him sane. Books and games.

The books he read were typically of the fantasy genre, set within medieval times however he had recently been reading cultivation novels. These novels allowed him to distance himself from his ordinary life.

As for games, when he wasn't reading books, he was playing games. However, in the last decade, he had only played a single game. The Legend of God. The game was set in a cultivation world, which is to say, it was set in an ancient world with endless opportunities. These were opportunities that Dyn took advantage of, from slaying the Devil Ancestor to obtaining the Legendary Gem of Furthermore. In this game, it was said that whoever could complete transcendence would become God of the Furthermore, able to control every aspect of the game with a single thought. Although there were billions of people playing every single day, one had yet to become a God.

Dyn had thousands of hours logged in the game, nearly ten thousand, in fact. It would be an understatement to say that Dyn was good. He was more powerful than any other player in the game. He had done more, seen more, and acquired more than any person in the game and he was at the cusp of transcendence. However, he didn't know how to transcend. No one had done it before, so there were no guides online about it. Of course, there were theories and speculations however Dyn had attempted all of their methods and was still unable to transcend.

Going to sleep that night, Dyn knew that something was going to happen, he just didn't know what. He had always felt cautious, feeling as if he was being watched when he wasn't, feeling as if his house would be broken into and subsequently preparing defense measures for when that did happen, in his mind. Finally drifting off to sleep, Dyn felt at peace. His desires and worldly emotions seemed to be gone and he felt better than he had in a very long time.

Waking up felt different. Dyn opened his eyes to the clear blue sky directly above him. Populated with stars, the sky felt like a dream. It was so beautiful. Sitting up Dyn saw the most elegant and amazing sight he'd ever seen. Columns ran up into the sky, seeming to connect directly to the stars. Pavilions and courtyards dotted the landscape, with waterfalls, streams, and lakes falling around them.

The place where he was resting was massive. He was sitting in a courtyard, surrounded on three sides by massive walls. The wall that was directly behind him was about six times taller than the walls to his left and right, however. Dyn briefly tried pinching himself, to make sure he wasn't dreaming but not feeling any pain he looked down at his hand. Seeing six fingers, he truly believed himself to be dreaming. However just as he was about to attempt to wake himself up, a box popped up in front of him. He jumped up startled, however, the box followed him, remaining at head height. Dyn started backing up, however before he could do anything more the box transformed into the words, "Welcome to Furthermore."

Staring at the words, Dyn was shocked. Seeing the final word Dyn was confident he knew where the dream was set in. Furthermore, was the name of the world of The Legend of God, the game he had been playing.

The words morphed again, transforming into, "Would you like the trash's upbringing (Impossible) or the God's upbringing (Easy)?"

Dyn, still convinced that this was a dream decided to do what he would typically do in-game, which was to choose the hardest difficulty in order to gain the highest possible rewards.

He reached out and touched (Impossible). A box popped up, confirming his selection. The box transformed into a green check-mark before everything turned black.
