Chapter 122

And the choice was not easy.

Subconsciously, Anthony's mind kept glancing at all the Pokémon that Aizen had called out, and the three he had used in the match so far.

He did not really put the others in his eyes, and could rule out Scyther as well, but Gengar and the Shiny Eevee had proven themselves as true Powerhouses. And still, he needed to be mindful of the green Mantis whilst making a choice.

"You have 30 seconds left to make your choice or the round will be forfeit." Cyrus reminded him, and the lemon-haired boy subconsciously plucked out a Pokeball from his belt.

"Go, Flygon!"

A giggle escaped Anira's belly when she saw which Pokémon Anthony had chosen, and hearing her reaction in the very silent Arena, the boy from Unova tensed up.

However, he was relieved when Aizen did not recall Gengar.

The Desert Spirit flapped his its, creating a beautiful sound, and it was immediately surrounded by a small sandstorm.

"Haze." Aizen ordered his Pokémon, whose body soon exuded a bluish haze, and the temperature dramatically started dropping in the battlefield.

"Psychic Noise!"

Flygon flapped its wings even faster, and the let a strange ringing voice that disturbed Gengar.

"Earth Power!"

As soon as the move was called out, Flygon's body briefly shined and then the ground under Gengar erupted with a strange power that rattled its senses.

"Aerial Ace!"

"Night Shade! And Light Screen."

Gengar, despite the pain, executed the moves, and even though Flygon's Aerial Ace hit it, the Dragon Pokemon was rattled too and was caught inside a mirage.

"Ice Punch!"

Gengar ruthlessly smashed its fist, covered in Ice Energy, right into Flygon's neck, causing it to suffer both a mental and physical damage with its last two moves.

"Shadow Ball!"

"Earth Power!"

The two moves were called out at the same time, and somehow, Flygon managed to bear the pain and unleash another Earth Power.

The Light Screen that Aizen had earlier called for, played a crucial role as a lot of power behind Flygon's move was negated.

But both Pokémon got hit, and both were now down on the ground.

"Ice Punch." Aizen commanded, and even though it looked like Gengar would not get up, it suddenly disappeared from the ground.

When Anthony saw the scene, his heart jumped up in his throat.

"Earthquake!" He called out, hoping that Gengar was hiding inside the ground, but Flygon was in no position to execute the move.

Gengar suddenly appeared behind the Drgaon Pokémon, and delivered the Ice Punch in kind, ending the round.

"Gengar wins the fourth round!" Cyrus called out, wearing a smile as he looked at the stubborn Gengar.

He was even more surprised in this battle than he had been during their Gym Battle.

Aizen's Gengar was monstrously strong.

"You are awesome, Gengar!" Anira cheered from the stands, and the Ghost Pokemon eerily smiled her way before looking at Anthony.

It almost looked like it was asking the lemon-haired boy to send him another prey, and that look truly made the boy from Unova restless.

Anthony was also at a serious disadvantage now.

Both of them had revealed three Pokémon so far, and he had lost all three of his Pokémon.

Even though Aizen's Gengar and Eevee were very tired, they could still not be underestimated. And he was still confused as to how that Eevee could use Electric, Psychic, and Fire Type moves. He never knew that Eevee were supposed to be this strong.

"Go, Incineroar!"

The light subsided, and a red bipedal Tiger Pokémon, loudly roared as it emerged on the battlefield.

"Return." Aizen immediately called out before Cyrus could announce the start of the round, and Gengar floated over to his side, levitating behind him to watch the next battle.

"Incinroaaarrr!" The bipedal Pokémon proudly roared again, taking Gengar's retreat as its win, and it made the Ghost Pokemon smile some more.

Aizen could tell that the Incineroar was in great health and had been very well-trained.

Rinko needed some more time to recuperate, and Scyther was simply no match for this Pokémon.

He could have tried wearing down Incineroar with Gengar, but he did not want to lose his Ghost-Type Pokemon yet. He needed Anthony to stay mindful of it whilst making his last two choices.

"Time for you to shine." He tossed a Pokeball in the air, and the Pokémon that appeared out of it unnerved everyone.

Funnily enough, its ability was not Unnerve. It was mostly because of its ridiculous size and intimidating look that Incineroar tensed up.

"Aero!" The proud Alpha Aerodactyl flapped its wings in the air, and seeing which Pokémon it was, Cyrus immediately used a button on his phone to retract the roof.

"Alpha Aerodactyl!" Dexio stood up from his seat and excitedly looked at one of the Apex Predators of their world.

Sina seemed just as excited as him, and this was because they had read Bill's research on Alpha Pokemon. And ever since then, they have been looking forward to meeting such Pokémon.

Seeing the excitement of his friends, Anthony was even more certain that this Pokémon was not normal.

He too had an Aerodactyl, but it was nowhere close to this size.

"Focus." He immediately called out, and his Incineroar closed its eyes, getting ready for the next attack.

"Stone-Edge." Aizen knew this could turn dangerous and immediately called out the move.

Aerodactyl's body briefly blinked before a sharp rock erupted from the ground under the Fire Pokémon's feet, who had already jumped up in the air to avoid it, but still got struck by it.

However, Incineroar did not lose its focus.

"Aerial Ace." Aizen calmly said.

"Drain Punch!"

Aerodactyl, thanks to its superior speed, managed to land the attacks first, but eventually hot stuck by a Drain Punch, which made it wince and forced it to fly up in the air.

"Stone-Edge." Aizen called just when Incineroar was about to touch the ground, and this time, the attack hit bullseye, delivering massive damage to the Fire-Type Pokemon. "Use Ancient Power and then land on the ground."

The Pokémon did as asked, and Anthony, who was not sure why Aizen was making his Pokémon land on the ground, decided to make the most of this opportunity.

"Ready, mate?"

"Incineroaaarrr!" His Pokémon affirmatively answered as it crushed all the Rocks that were surrounding and attacking it, intending on getting rid of them as soon as possible.

"Earthquake." Aizen lightly whispered just before Aerodactyl was about to land on the ground, and even though the opponent could see that he had said something, he had not heard the call.

Incineroar was not prepared for what happened next. When Aerodactyl's feet landed on the ground, the Fire Pokemon sensed the ground under him vibrate, and soon it started shaking uncontrollably.

The few Rocks from Ancient Power that were still left, crashed into it, and it was left at the mercy of the Ancient Pokémon, who came rushing at it with a Brave Bird.

"Drain-Punch!" Anthony panicked a little and called out the move, but to his regret, his Pokémon failed because Brave Bird struck first.

Incineroar dropped on the ground, which was still shaking a little, and panted heavily. It still had not lost consciousness, so Cyrus did not call the end of the round.

And it proved to be the right call.

The bipedal Pokémon suddenly started exuding flames, and then it got up on its feet with madness reflecting in its eyes.

Aizen immediately understood that its ability was Blaze, and a powerful Fire Move was coming next.

"Fly up."

"Flare Blitz!"

The speed at which Incineroar rushed at Aerodactyl caught the Ancient Pokémon by surprise. It was never expecting the fallen Pokémon to show such speed, and this resulted in it getting hit by the attack.

The Flying-Rock Pokémon bore the pain and instead of retaliating, flew up in the air as Aizen had asked. When it finally stopped and sent a glare at its enemy, it found it unconscious on the ground.

"Aeroo!!!" It roared in anger and pride, and Cyrus announced the end of the fourth round.

"Incineroar is unable to battle. Aerodactyl wins the fourth round."

With four wins, and with all four of his used Pokémon still available, Aizen seemed to be at an overwhelming advantage now.

However, Anthony still did not look too worried, and this time, there was even a smile on his face.

"Go, Swampert!"

As soon as the Ground Water Pokémon stepped into the Arena, with a Mega Stone on his left arm, Anira tensed up.

She could sense how strong this Pokémon was, and she knew that her brother did not have an effective counter for it.

The only Pokémon Aizen had not revealed yet were Arcanine and Onix, and there was no way that Arcanine could win this Battle.

Daisy and Misty too tensed up, and the former even sighed, well-aware of how strong Anthony's Swampert was.

"Does he have a strong Grass-Type Pokémon on him?" She asked, and Leaf shook her head. "His only Grass-Type is his Bulbasaur."

They were all now worried, and their worries were not baseless.

"Eee!"

"No, Rinko. Keep resting." Aizen shook his head and then looked at Aerodactyl, who was looking at the Swampert with fire in its eyes.

Seeing that Aizen did not recall his Pokémon, Cyrus called out the start of the fifth round between Aerodactyl and Swampert, and both the Pokémon started a battle that lasted quite a while.
