We got the call that New York City was having a freak snowstorm we left immediately. We arrived in opportune time to get the chores done. We argued about where to move the couch. Where the dining table should be. Which of us will be in charge of which duty and for how long. Di and Dash were in charge of the laundry. Anon was in charge of arranging the mess hall. Edge took first watch on the periscope. Sasha was on first aid duty. I was busy filling the tubs with water. Ems and Lena were cleaning the fridge of anything inedible. Cole was in charge of sleeping bags. GG and Hattie were out shopping for batteries and groceries. Tank was arranging the war table. Breaker was in charge of placing all the useless stuff in storage. Bats and Bob were sterilizing every surface. Sembi was checking the windows for cracks. Fin was in charge of inventory after the storm passed. Basher would check if the locks were working and Max talked to the security about what procedures they will use during these days so they can adjust accordingly. Benji and his siblings showed up and things got interesting. Phillip walked in with a reluctant Jasmine who looked as though she would rather be surfing on the beaches of Australia or be in Paris with one of the fashion editors.
Our clothes were laundered, dried, pressed and parceled according to Di. Cole checked the sleeping bags for holes and other defects. He decided that we needed new ones. So he had security buy new ones. They even bought a hammock for Diana to lie down. We ran out of cleaning liquid so they bought those too. Like I said Bats has a different definition of cleaning. His form of cleaning the living space will take forty eight hours for a well and thorough sterilization. Lena was texting an update on the grocery list every sixty seconds. Half the security was sent to assist. Sembi used a hair drier and blew air on the window pane to see if the air passed through. He then checked the locks. They locked and unlocked repeatedly really fast. If the key didn't turn fast enough it was taken out to check for damages.
Benji, Phillip and Tank helped on the war table. Phillip talked to the precincts to find out where the road closures, roadblocks and other street obstacles. He then contacted first responders to find out their procedures as Tank called the snowplow company. He found where they were situated. The spouses divided and helped with clean-up and rearrangement.
Jasmine spent half her time with her eye closed chanting Gucci, Prada, Dulce and Gabbana, Valentino and Louis Vuitton. She then pretended she was in the met gala. Then the summer Paris collection show. She then pretended she was in Italy. Phillip was shaking his head the entire time. Benji laughed, "I don't know how you put up with her Phil. She would drive me bananas in minutes." Phillip gave him a strange look, "I tune her out or listen to a podcast or listen to doctor Whitmore's lectures in Bern or MIT" Phillip's brother chuckled, "She is a head case" This earned a dirty look from her. They smiled at her as she stomped in my direction, "Can I ask you why I am not going to Paris? Did I do something wrong that I am being punished?" I gave her a sad face, "I missed you. I want to you stay." She froze for a moment and guessed this to do with DD an ex-crush of mine. She gave me a nod and walked to the war table. She picked up her phone and ordered the junior assistants to book a three day spa treatment. I requested not to go in the mud bath. She promised it will not be included.
Diana was jumping up and down asking to look through the periscope. Phillip was surprised we had one of these. He wanted one in his apartment. His brother had just bought a house and he asked me if I could make one for him. I promised him I will.
