Chapter 3

I was told that others can handle the estate. I am free to roam as long as I don't expose us. So I decided to go to Norway. I was about to open the portal to Oslo, when a cold firm hand gripped my shoulder. It was Frigid. She was pleased that her sister managed to reunite with her beloved. She was hoping I could do the same for her. She explained that a Duke proposed to her but she refused him so he cursed her fiance Ivar to become a reindeer and she into polar bear. She only escaped the curse because of two things. The first because she is keeping a distance from him and the second because of her grandmother's ring.

I asked her for more details and she explained that during the day she looks like she does right now but as the sunsets she turns into a bear. He stays a deer during the day but changes back to his original form as the sunsets. She wants to know if there is a solution. I told her to look for a solar eclipse. It is when it is neither night nor day. Get married and the curse is lifted. She was delighted. She turns around and asked her sister if she knew where there was going to be an complete solar eclipse. I told her to find the healer Alina. As she keeps an eye on these things. They both raced each other to see who can find Alina first.

Behind her was someone I assumed was her handmaiden. She was wearing a peasant outfit. Her brown hair was loosely braided. She was not so pleased with to hear my solution. She was staring at Frigid like her happiness has been stepped on. Freeza found him and told him what to do. I let slip about the handmaiden's expression. I suggested they investigate who might benefit from not allowing them to get married. They should take precautions before doing anything else was done.

The handmaiden was summoned. She first acted innocent till I explained that I saw how angry she was. She started to protest. It turns out she was in love with Frigid's fiance. She had proposed to him on multiple occasions and he had refused each and every time. She thought she had a chance to convince Ivar that it is for the best to leave Frigid when I came up with a solution. The entire time the guest observed how I was trying to handle the situation. They seemed quite amused. I asked if she could be moved to place where she will be watched twenty four hours and where she can't get in their way. Freeza waved her hand to open a vortex. It sucked her to a dark place. I asked where she was sent. She assured me that it was a safe place. After much asking she finally answered that she was sent to Freeza's prison. The only way out was either for her to die or if Freeza herself released her.

We discovered that in a few weeks a total solar eclipse will occur. So they got ready to break the curse. Well wishers started to flock to see this nightmare come to an end. While those who would benefit from continuing the curse was removed strategically. The duke showed up to make sure that the wedding doesn't happen. He was upset that after a thousand years a solution has presented itself. He approached Frigid and warned her that the wedding won't got through. I invited Ivar Frigid's actual fiance and gave him a room where it would be eternally night. I made the corridor looked and felt endless when the duke arrived on the Ivar's floor. The duke acted like a kid. He pulled a tantrum like one. One of the guests had to slap him hard to knock some sense into him.

A week before the eclipse arrived the Duke made sure to try and stay as close to Frigid as possible. I made sure the servants stood in front of him like a battalion ready for war. He saw that there were at least fifty rows of people between him and Frigid. His expression was a sour one and even Drake started to laugh at how ridiculous he looked. He and his friends applauded my brilliance. Freeza helped when the staff were busy. She had her security stand between Frigid and The Duke. Freeza asked her friends to do the same. Whenever the Duke tried to reach Frigid a team of people would come between them and he would be left standing like fool. Frigid got bored of his constant attack and finally requested that he be removed from her presence. I thought it would take what would appeared to be the jaws of life to pry him away. But Freeza casually flicked her fingers. A vortex appear sucked him to her prison to await trial.

The day that everyone was waiting for arrived. The air was filled with so much nervousness that you could write the Magna Carta a thousand times over with ease. The wedding began and the person who wed them made sure it was swiftly before more drama arrived. The moment they became husband and wife a light shone from both of them and it dispersed into the air. A very distinct scream was heard in the air and we were sure it was the Duke. Freeza checked her prison. Instead of the Duke she found his ashes strewn all over the floor. The guests stayed for the next three months celebrating the happily ever after of these guys. I was still upgrading the security of the place.

The dragons came with a few of their cousins for a stopover before they left for Winter island. I finally was introduced to the Manticore. They stood taller than me. And They were just as foreboding as the dragons were when they went on a rage. They changed to human form. Some were men other were women. They were breathtaking beautiful. One of them sat next to me and extended their hand to touch me. I realized that they wanted see what was going on so I gave it to them. They smiled and nod their heads. They stayed for a week before they left.

One of the guests asked me if I could procure him a dragon egg. I told him that I don't steal from my guests. He looked insulted but said nothing further. Winston escorted him to lobby and I warned the dragons that stuck around that there is someone wants to steal one of their eggs. I showed them what had happened and they promised to keep an eye on them. I decided to follow the guy and found out that he has dragon held as a prisoner. I ran to the dragons and asked them if they could breath fire into my dagger. So I could release their brother. I was shocked when I was told that they knew he was alive. They were helpless to save him. I promised to help him but I need them to do that. They did as I asked. I saw my little dagger become like Excalibur. I ran to release him. When he saw me he smiled knowing he was finally free. I carefully held the knife to the chain that bound him. I imagined the chain dissolving into nothing and it started to disintegrate. He smiled at me as I escorted him to Alina and she healed him as best as she could. The rest of the dragons escorted him to Drogon where he was restored to his usual self. After which the guy that imprisoned him was summoned. The dragons surrounded him and they burned him to ashes. He screamed in pain and howled profanities too.
