Chapter 2

I thought that was the end of all the ruckus but William showed up with his dad and the entire pack. They wanted a place to rest before they go hunting for Werewolves. They were badly injured so I asked Winston my butler to summon Alina the healer.

She was a young woman in her early twenties. The lower half of her hair was shaved off and the rest of her curly hair was dyed with violet, purple and blue. She wore a gypsy outfit. She examined each and every one of the wounded and asked her assistant Enrieta to fetch herbs from her wagon. Enrieta was a faerie. She had flowing dark hair, wore the same clothes as Alina except she was barefoot. Her feet were muddy and smelly. I asked about her and was told she is a slave. She had attacked their people and was punished with enslavement. She wore a necklace with a lot of charms that seemed to glow each time she resisted. I guess it was inflicting her extreme pain. Drake tapped me on the shoulder and asked me to stay out of it.

I wished the guys the best and went back to my office to go through the contracts that have been signed. It was logged according to which side they belonged. It was easy since the paper itself was a dead giveaway. The defenders used white paper meanwhile The Helm of the darkness used black paper and the paper usually has blood dripping from the side. Drake was amused by how I cataloged everything so simply in my head. He chuckled slightly and left to Romania with his other wife. He turned and winked, "I will see you later dear. Oh and you are not a groupie. There are certain things you must do to become one. Please don't do them. I hate groupies. They make me sick" I curtsied and replied, "Yes my prince". He smiled and walked through a portal to a place that sounded like a hurricane had just arrived. The portal closed and filled the room with eerie silence.

I proudly declared my problems to be yesterday's news. There was a knock and I knew I had just put my foot in my mouth. I distinctly heard Drake chuckle in the back of my head. I opened and was shocked to see who it was. It was James. He locked eyes with me and he was equally surprised. As for me, I was frozen solid. But before either of us could say or do anything a portal opened. I could hear Drake screaming. I am pretty sure he was swearing in his native language. James stood for a moment and smiled. He seemed to be enjoying Drake's tantrum. I wished that Drake would send someone to send James away. For a moment there was silence. I was still too paralyzed to do anything. An angry old gypsy came limping out of the portal and politely asked him to leave.

He gave her a haughty look and told her he is here for business. He asked to enter but I refused. For safety reasons the room was designed to only allow those I permit. He insisted that I should help him sort things out for him so I called my butler and asked him to take care of things. After which James was dismissed. He wanted to say something but I slammed the door in his face. This made Drake laugh. It sounded like a schoolboy had succeeded in pulling a prank. I shook my head and went back to work. The old lady apologized and went back to the portal. It closed behind her.

By lunch, Drake sent my meal to make sure I don't have to face James. This didn't deter James at all. He tried to talk me into joining him but I kept the door firmly shut and insisted that I had a lot of paperwork. I didn't forget what he did at Kong Island. Zuni took me to her birthplace because that was the only place left where I would be safe. I reminded him what damage he had done to my mind. He apologized and I was walking back to my desk when I heard a new voice I had never heard before. I opened to see that it was Enrieta. She was trying to convince James to leave. He made it clear he wanted to spend time with me but finally she got bored and opened her wings and he left without making a fuss. Enrieta folded her wings and approached me.

I was informed that a delegation has arrived seeking my help. I was asked to meet the team of Voodoo doctors who wanted sanctuary. When I saw them I felt that they were here to create trouble so I made it clear to them that if they done any kind of mischief that exposed us to humans. If they try hexing or cursing in my guests while they are in here the deal is off. They stared at me for a moment and agreed. They noticed that the figurines around them started to glow. They looked at each other nervously but their leader stood perfectly still as though he had seen nothing. I felt something was wrong so I escorted them to the courtroom. The moment they walked in the carvings on the floor lit up like fireworks and sucked them into a nearby painting. I asked Winston what had happened and he explained that since they had a lying heart they were judged. This room has a way of sensing the person's intentions. They had come with ill intentions. But I had managed to make all of them swear an oath to obey the rules of this property. They got what they deserved. Had they attacked me or anyone else the moment they had arrived they would have seen something else. When I asked what he meant by what he said. The reply was that there are no words that can describe it.

I remembered the words to summon Angharad. So I called her and asked her about the witch doctors. She screamed the moment I said Voodoo. I am guessing they were involved in the forest fire. I asked to confirm my theory and she gave me a dirty look that spoke volumes. She asked me where they were so I escorted her to the courtroom and showed her the painting. It took her a moment for her to figure out why I was pointing at it but when she did she started to cackle. She asked how it happened. I was at a loss for words so Winston explained what happened. She grinned evilly and asked to borrow the painting for a few minutes. She promised to return it without breaking it. I waved my hands to say go ahead. She disappeared with it.

I walked out to see Freeza had arrived. She was the queen of the north pole. She and her twin sister Frigid the queen of Antarctica were here as a stopover. Freeza had snow white skin, floor length braided white hair, had icy veins spread across her hands and face. Her eyes were the palest blue. She was dressed in a regal outfit befitting a queen. She looked at me amused and thanked me for my compliment. I blushed and turned to see Frigid. She had dark black hair that reached her waist. She had black veins that spread across her face and hands. She wore a fur cap like it was a crown. She wore an identical outfit to her sister but hers was grey. She was escorted by a polar bear. I was told that he was cursed to be a bear till he has a few drops from the well of gratitude. They have yet to find it.

I had heard of the story of the well of gratitude when I was a child so I tried to recall how it ended. I took two steps when I remembered how the story ends and I ran to tell them. I explained and they looked extremely agitated by the mention of their pursuit to save the bear. They had tried many things but yielded no results so they were skeptical. So I took them with me and I showed them the proof from the books. They helped someone and took their tears of gratitude in a vial. Frigid poured them on the polar bear. He changed into a handsome young prince. Freeza saw this and came running to his arms. She and prince Hans had a tearful reunion and decided to get married as soon as possible. It turns out that Frigid kept the prince hidden as her valet until they found a way to reverse his condition. Freeza was told that he was missing
