Here To Stay

Three days later

Joan was in the kitchen making something for her mother to eat.

"Yinka, I have told you that I am fine now, there's no need for you to stay here with me anymore, so go back home to your husband," Joan's mother said to her.

"Mummy, Ayo has no problem with me staying here with you for a while," Joan said.

"But I do, you are married and should be in your husband's house and not here," her mother sat down on a stool in the kitchen, Joan served out some of the rice she prepared into a plate and placed it in front of her mother.

"You worry too much, nothing is going to happen to me," her mother said.

"Mummy, you're all I have left," Joan said.

"No, you also have your husband," her mother corrected.

"You're right, but still I can't afford anything happening to you, I don't want to lose you, mummy."

"You will not lose me, at least not until you've given me my grandchildren," her mother said smiling.
