Childhood Best friends, Joan Afolabi a successful lawyer and Steve Olawale a successful businessman, are forced into an arranged marriage by their parents. Having a drunken one night stand with your best friend was one thing, but marriage? That was completely different and unexpected.
Is friendship going to be enough to keep the marriage between Joan who doesn't believe in love or submitting to a man, and Steve a proud womanizer? Or perhaps there was something more than friendship between them? Something neither of them knew about?
Honestly, I'm just 3 chapters into the novel and...DAMN!!! it's giving me this feeling of reading a contemporary Nigerian novel written by a famous Nigerian author. At same time, also giving me this thrill that can be derived from watching Nollywood. this is great, honestly. I'm glad I stumbled upon this novel.
The story is beautiful and one can relate with it. The translation and grammer is good a wide range of vocabularies. It is idiomatic at the same time. very original and natural.. The characters are good and fit into their roles well. Keep up the good job author, you are the best.
Really love your book, I realised that you are a Nigerian writer, so interesting because so am I. my works are “why my son?” And “falling in love with a demon” i hope you love them. thanks
