Come Home

The following weekend Steve's parents were getting married, it was an intimate ceremony as they only invited a few family and friends. Joan had tears in her eyes as she watched Steve's parents holding hands and reading out each other's vows. This was the type of love that she wanted. The type that never dies, the type of love that forgives a partner after wrongdoing.

"Are you okay?" her mother who was sitting next to her, asked.

"Hmm," Joan nodded. She cleaned tears from the corner of her eyes. She and Steve haven't spoken since the day that he tore their divorce papers into shreds. It's been a week already. And she was yet to tell him that she was pregnant. She watched as he conversed with one of his father's guests. Could he have given up on their marriage already? What if he was already making plans to go be with Chloe and her child?

"You still haven't told him about your pregnancy, have you?" Her mother asked her.

"No, I haven't."
