Chronic Womanizer

Steve was silent for a moment as he thought about Joan's question. Was he happy with the decision of getting married to her? To be honest he hadn't thought about his happiness since he found out that Joan's father was sick and has a limited time to live.

He had shoved his own happiness to the side when he found out that Joan's father was ill and decided to do what will make the dying man happy and also what was best for Joan and her mother. This wasn't about his happiness. There was no time for him to start thinking about his own happiness. This was all about protecting his best friend and her mom from a pack of wolves when her father is gone. This was about protecting his best friend's family legacy. And making sure no harm comes to her or her mother because if anything were to happen to any of them, he would definitely not be happy with himself. So yes, he could say he was happy with his decision to marry Joan.
