Aria

I grab my jacket and put on my shoes, I quickly turned and looked at the small mirror on the wall. It was weird having a mirror beside the door but mum always wants to look perfect before she leaves the house so there are mirrors almost all around the house. I open the door and see the two bodyguards my dad assigned for me. Umberto and Gustavo, they were familiar since they've babysat me a lot of times. Robert waved at me and I smiled at him before getting into the car. Umberto and Gustavo got into the other car and drove behind us. I looked out at the scenery as it brushed by and exhaled.

I don't know why I'm so nervous, probably because I'm going to have a conversation with a guy by myself, well bodyguards are going to be there but still. No guy was even allowed to be in three feet of my existence and the ones that were allowed to talk to me at events, Lily did all the talking. Lily! Shoot! I forgot to tell her where I was going, she would have given me tips. Pathetic I know, I'm 20 years old and I've never had a conversation with a boy by myself.

"We're here Aria"

I looked up at Robert and smiled before getting out of the car. The coffee shop looked nice even though I've never been in there before. I quickly put on my sunglasses in case paparazzi is around and I take a deep breath and walk into the coffee shop with Umberto and Gustavo behind me.

Immediately I walked in, I saw Scott's bright luscious locks beside the window. I walk towards him and he looks up. I could have sworn I heard him snort. I gesture for Umberto and Gustavo to sit wherever and they choose a table two tables from us.

I sit in front of Scott and he's already staring at me with his baby blue eyes.

"Hi" I try a smile since his face is unreadable but he doesn't smile back.

"I'm going to order, do you want something?"

I swallow "Um black coffee no sugar or milk. Thank you"

He raises an eyebrow suprised at my order but he leaves anyway and I catch Umberto's eye watching me like Scott did something. I look away and roll my eyes. My dad is so extra, who goes on a coffee date with two bodyguards?! Wait this isn't a date! Get it together Aria!

Scott comes back with our orders and passes me my coffee which I clutch with a death grip. He sips his coffee and I noticed he got a latte with almond milk.

"I assume you already know the reason why I asked you to come here"

I nodded and looked down at my coffee "I'm guessing it's the contract?"

Scott nods "Yes we need to grow our market share as our company suffered a big financial blow, we also need to secure our position in the global budget and your father can help with that"

I shrug " I'm sorry I don't know anything about business"

"Your parents don't discuss these things with you?"

I took a sip of my coffee before I shook my head. Scott scans my face before continuing " Well since your father basically owns the market of Boston, the merge will help us grow our market share over there"

I nod again not sure where this conversation was going "So you called me here to talk business?"

He chuckled"No, I want your opinion on the marriage"

I rose an eyebrow "My opinion? What's there to say? The deal is done"

He nodded "Yes but still I want to know your opinion, it's very important seeing as we're the ones about to be joined together forever"

I nodded "I know, I don't have any objections"

Seriously aside from the cruel way my parents brought this impromptu marriage contract upon me, Scott actually seems like a good guy and since he's the first guy that has been allowed to consider me romantically then maybe something good could actually come out of this.

Scott's brows are pulled as he frowns "You're sure you don't have any objections whatsoever?"

I nod slowly "You don't seem satisfied by my answer though, or perhaps you're the one who is objecting?"

He clears all emotions from his face again and downs his coffee "No, I have no objections either"

I nod and stare at my now warm coffee, this whole conversation was awkward and I hate awkward.

"We have 3 months before the engagement and another 3 months before the actual wedding"

"Yeah"

"So do you want to be friends?"

I look up at him suprised, he wants to be friends? I was pretty sure he didn't like me since the time I bumped into him in his house.

"Well do you want to? It's better we get to know one another since we're going to be stuck together anyway"

I didn't like the way he was using 'stuck together' like this wasn't his choice. I was probably blocking his way of enjoying his bachelor years now, or worse what if he has a girlfriend?!

"Do you have a girlfriend?" I blurted out

My eyes widened and I immediately slapped my hand over my mouth "I'm so sorry! I didn't mean to ask that"

Scott frowned and glared at his empty coffee cup "I don't have a girlfriend"

I nodded and dropped my hand back on my lap. At least that was cleared out.

"I would love to be friends" I answered

Scott nodded and cleared his throat "Well thank you for agreeing to meet up with me "

I nodded "We could have more meetings so we could get to know each other better" I suggested

Scott nodded too " I'll let you know when I'm free" He stood up " I have to go"

I stood up also " Ok, I'll leave now too"

" No sit and enjoy your coffee, it must be frustrating to be stuck in the house all the time"

My cheeks burned with embarrassment, he must have sensed from my behavior that I don't get out much. I nodded and gave him a polite smile.

He walked towards the door and turned back to me "Oh and I'm hoping next we meet you'll be more relaxed and informal" he turned and walked out the door.

I bite back a smile, the meeting went better than I expected. Maybe this contract wouldn't be so bad after all. Wait till Lily heard this.
