Evie

After lunch yesterday, I called Kaela again and asked her to help me find out when Jackson would be home. He's going to be home by 6pm so I had time to plan my speech.

it's was currently 11am and I was in my third class of the day. I can't wait to graduate from high school. I grabbed my bag as the bell rang and walked towards my locker. I shoved my books into it and inhaled deeply when I felt someone tap my shoulder.

I turned to see Micheal staring at me. Michael's dad was a pilot, the only reason we ever became friends was because I was obsessed with planes when I was six and Micheal knew all about them so we became friends since then. He's very quiet and shy with his deep blue eyes contrasting again his honey coloured skin and brown hair.

Micheal is very attractive but despite his looks, he's still too shy to ask a girl out even though they flock around him most of the time and I have to rescue him. I would have shown interest but my stupid heart is hopelessly in love with an idiot who keeps running away from me, hence I love Micheal like a brother.

"Those books didn't do anything to you Eve"

I scoffed and turned around to slam my locker closed before facing him again "I know, they're just the only thing I can take my anger out on right now"

"Why are you angry?"

"Well first the universe decided to wake me up with a beautiful cramp that almost killed my left ovary! I mean come on! God could have just chosen to shoot us a text every month saying 'Hey girl you're not pregnant' but instead he woke up and chose violence! He chose blood!"

"Eve" Micheal sighed

"I mean really! Imma be punished for not hoeing around every month?!"

"Eve c'mon everyone is staring" Michael whispered tired of my ranting.

"Oh I'm sorry! Try bleeding down there for 4 day with excruciating cramps then you can talk to me!" I yelled at the group of boys staring at us.

The boys quickly turned back around and walked away. I sighed and crossed my arms, I'm really pissed off today and I have no idea why.

"Here, you can have my Nutella sandwich" he offered

I looked at him "Awww thank you" I sniffled

He handed the sandwich to me and I bit eagerly into it as a tear rolled down my cheek.

Micheal frowned "Eve you're crying"

I nodded "I'm just happy, thank you Michael" I hugged him.

Ten minutes later the sandwich helped me calm down, I was seated on the bleachers with Micheal.

"So are you gonna tell me what's going on?"

I sighed "I'm going to talk to Jackson today"

"Oh? Why is that such a big deal then?"

"Because today I'm going to ask him to define our relationship"

Micheal raised his eyebrows "Woah, that's a big deal"

"Yep, I think I'm just getting tired of being the one doing all the work you know? Maybe it's time I know what to do so I can move forward"

He smiles "Eve you're a really bold girl, I could never do that"

I snorted "Which is why you'll be single forever"

He shrugged "I don't mind"

I rolled my eyes at him "Yeah right" I blew out a breath "I'm just afraid of his answer"

Micheal looked at me "The Eve I know isn't afraid of anything"

I smiled and lay my head on his shoulder. Why couldn't I fall in love with my awesome best friend like a normal girl? Instead my heart is for Jackson Dylan Bailey.

After school I waved goodbye to Micheal and got into the car. I told the driver to take me to Jackson's house, It was currently 4:33 and I still had time to hang out with Kaela before Jackson gets home.

I got out of the car and walked up to the house. After i knocked Kaela opened the door almost immediately.

"Hey!"

"Hi! What are you doing?" Her face was stained with flour.

"Oh I was just baking some cookies with Jocelyn"

Kaela is a teacher and she's in the kindergarten section as she absolutely loves kids. Sometimes she babysits for some of their neighbors.

I drop my bag and walked into the kitchen to see a girl playing with flour. Kaela went to her and picked her up.

"Joss this is Evie, she's my friend and she gonna be hanging with us today. Say hi Joss!"

"Hi!"

Her voice and smile totally melted my heart " It's nice to meet you Joss"

I joined them and we finished baking the cookies which tasted amazing by the way, we made popcorn and we watched Frozen 1&2 because Joss wanted to. Awesome girl time.

Joss fell asleep and Kaela picked her up and went to tuck her in. I grabbed the empty bowl that was filled with popcorn before and took it to the kitchen.

I dropped it in the sink and walked out but I bumped into something. I looked up and saw Jackson. When did he come in?

"You? What are you doing here?"

"I came to see Kaela and to talk to you"

"Talk to me? What are you talking abou-"

"Oh"

We both turned to see Kaela walking down the steps "I only came to get my phone, you guys go ahead" She walked back upstairs.

Jackson sighed "We can talk in my room"

I nodded and we walked into his room, It was normal. Not as huge as Scott's room but then again Jackson's family was totally different from mine.

"So what'd you wanna talk about?"

"Right. Why haven't you been replying my texts?"

"It's my phone Evie, and I've been busy ok? I know you're not here to talk about text messages"

"You're right, I'm here to talk about us" There I said it. I looked at his face and the frown etched on it.

"Us? What about us?"

"What is this Jackson? You know what I'm talking about"

He shook his head "Actually I don't"

I clenched my jaw, he's acting clueless and yet he definitely knows why I'm here. I've been chasing him for 6 years, does he get pleasure from seeing me suffer?

"Well I do! I'm talking about this thing between us Jackson, you and I both know it, everyone does. I've been chasing you for forever and what? You just ignore me all the damn time!"

"I don't get it Evie, what do you want me to do?"

"Oh I dunno maybe make a move? Accept me! Reject me! Do something! I'm tired of being the one who actually gives a damn and all I get in return is nothing." I pulled my hair "You always told me I was too young but now I'm 18! What's stopping you now?"

Jackson sighed "Evie"

I shook my head as a tear threatened to fall "No Jackson, for once I want to be treated more than your best friend's little sister. You have to tell me today where I stand, so I know what to do! I mean it's so obvious that I'm in love with you and i-"

I felt Jackson's lips on mine, he pulled me closer and I still felt his lips. Am I dreaming right now?! If this is a dream I'm going to be so upset.

I closed my eyes and tried to follow his lead, I've never been kissed before so I didn't know what to do. He released me and we were both panting.

"Did that answer your question?" Jackson asked.

I bit my lip and looked into his eyes as I nodded.

"Good because I'm done waiting" he pulled me to him again and slammed his lips on mine.
