Ding!
-Hello Host! I am Twisted Logic System 24601! Welcome to the dimensional gap!
"Wasn't I dead?"
Chao Duyi, instead of paying attention to the system, began to inspect his own body.
The purple veins were still all over, but his movements weren't impeded at all.
He thought he was having hallucinations, until he tried to touch his hands together and realized that he passed through himself?
"???"
Duyi tried clapping, and again, his hands passed through each other.
Ding!
-Host! This system recommends that you stop playing with yourself and listen~
-( ͡° ͜ ͜ʖ ͡°)
"... I seem to be hearing things."
Ding!
-No host! I'm definitely here!
A black ball of a similar property to himself suddenly appeared in front to of his face.
Duyi flinched back from the jump scare.
"... Y,you're a talking black ball!"
Ding!
-Yes host! You can see me!
"Who are you?"
Ding!
-I already explained to host that I am Twisted Logic System 24601.
"So you twist logic?"
Ding!
-No host! My job is to help *untwist* twisted logic!
"Isn't your name a bit redundant then? Shouldn't you be just 'logic system'?"
Ding!
-ಥ-ಥ
-Host! I have also brought this up with the department head, but he said that other counterattack systems like myself have similar names!
-The 'Villain Systems' actually work to revive villains, and the 'Collapse Systems'...
24601 went on a ramble as to how all the system's names are messed up.
As a system in charge of untwisting logic, he had strong feelings for illogical things, especially these redundant names for the systems.
Chao Duyi sat for all eternity listening to 24601 explaining the systems' weird names.
The End.
...
Just kidding.
Chao Duyi figured he had forever to listen anyway.
He was obviously already dead, and it wasn't so bad having the little black ball as company.
Once 24601 finished his rant, Chao Duyi patiently asked the question he had been holding in.
"What is the 'dimensional gap'?"
The system realized he had gone on a rant and that Duyi had listened to the entire thing.
He felt quite relaxed after getting things off his mind, and decided to be good to his host.
He had as much power as the host needed, but some systems liked to take advantage of their hosts.
But if the host is powerful, so is the system.
Might as well be good to this polite young man.
Ding!
-Sorry for the rant host. The dimensional gap is the space outside of the "microcosmic web" and the universes that make it up.
-You see, universes are made from the stories that people create! Universes are then microcosms of one another spanning infinitely! So your world was actually a story as well!
"My world was a story?"
Ding!
-Yes host! Your world was actually a Mary Sue novel!
-Do you remember the woman who was bit by the snake before you died? She was the female lead!
"Ah? I didn't realize I was so close to such important people..."
Ding!
-Yes host! In the story, you are officially known as the 'snake milker.'
-Your death helped the male lead realize his feelings for the female lead through adversity and struggle!
24601 tried to word the reason for Duyi's death as nicely as possible, but as soon as he said it, he realized that he had made a mistake.
Chao Duyi was chosen by 24601 because of his high logical ability. There was no way he wouldn't recognize the plot holes.
"... So you are saying I had to die to help promote their love and spread dog food?"
-...
"... The legacy I left behind was as a, 'failed snake milker'?"
-...
"And that the reason I never got to use my master's degrees was because they needed an overqualified 'snake milker' to die and promote their love?"
Ding!
-...Sorry host.
-This system understands your heartache and has brought you this opportunity for a second chance.
-You see, there are many people like you who have died to promote love or move stories forward. People create but don't think of the consequences of others in their story.
-Actually, you have very good specs for a background character! Some things are even better than lead characters! Except, luck is not one of your strong suits. Would you like to view your stats?
"... I guess."
Ding!
-Here you go host!

Viewing his stats, Chao Duyi Felt inexplicably better.
"System... how much luck do protagonists have?"
Ding!
-Protagonists' luck never runs out host!
"What do you mean?"
Ding!
-Luck Stats are slightly different to where you can spend them to make things happen!
-If you have an infinite number of Luck, you can continuously rise to an occasion!
"Then does luck determine everything?"
Ding!
-No host! Luck is not the deciding factor! That is why it's okay that you don't have a lot of luck!
-This system can make up for it!
-ᕙ(@°▽°@)ᕗ
"Then what exactly are the allocable points?"
Ding!
-Those are a representation of the hosts current potential! You can spend potential (named allocable points) and the system can help you turn it into stats!
"Can they be turned into skills?"
Ding!
-No host, but the more allocable stats you have on hand, the more skills are available to learn in the 'dimensional gap'!
-It also improves the speed at which you learn those skills here!
"I understand. Can you turn off the bell sound effect?"
-Yes host... but I like it...
"Okay Hei Bao." [a/n: black dumpling]
-Hei Bao?
"Well I can't always call you Twisted Logic System 24601... Hei Bao is just right for you."
-I see host!
"Then Xiao Hei, my job is to help you untwist logic?"
-No host, that's my job! Your job is to untwist logic!
-My job is to help you!
