Nightmare. The world where monsters dwell in every corner, a place completely inhospitable to humans. The sun only comes up for 6 hours a day, while the rest of the time the sky is cloaked in dim rouge rays of light emanating from the moon. Join Alban as he starts off as a human and evolves into a terror that strikes dread into the very world itself.

Hey, I'm new at writing and thought I'd take a shot at it. Native English speaker, so if you spot any typos, feel free to admonish me. I’ll try to fix them before burying myself in tons of chapters.

Warning, right now update rates will be VERY inconsistent! I took some time off to plan what I actually want to do in this book, so right now I’m trying my best to write enough chapters to have a stable release rate. I’m a student, so that’s the kind of situation I’m in...thanks for your understanding!

Loneliness System

Yeah, Alban could tell that he was not fit to survive. He was thin, naked, and had only above average stats. Call him crazy but, he was pretty sure that this is much more than an "above average" situation. Surveying the land around him, he sought to find a direction  he could properly run towards.


Looking around for what seemed to be the third time, his eyes surveyed the crunched, burnt up sands. They saw the grey trees, with leaves the pitch of grape juice. These trees seemed oddly lively, in fact, they seemed to be shivering a bit. Which was what Alban noticed next.


The air around him was almost palpable, thick and cold. As he stood practically drenched upon the beach, he observed the clouds that hung low upon the ground, almost as if reenacting the love between Gaia and Aether. Alban decided to stay away from the clouds, as he currently didn't know very much about them.


That left really only one direction...further along the beach. Alban felt grateful that he couldn't spy either creatures or the shores around him. He optimistically decided that no one would disturb him here. With a cheer in his step, he figured he had enough time to finish his dailies.


Running was hard. At least, Alban thought it should be. As an average human, he would barely past the mile test every year. Yet here he was, at five kilometers. How long did it take him? He had no idea. Still, he didn't fail anything so...he probably had some time left. So he set upon the rest of his Prepare quest, and after finishing it, he took a short nap.

After awakening from his nap, Alban was met with a panel informing him of his success. Checking up on his other quest, he also found that it was half finished and not failed, much to his relief. He decided to check his inventory before seeing about his skills, excited at the prospect of wearing something around his lower body again.


'Ah, the comfort of civilization at last' thought Alban. He knew it was probably as civilized as he could get for a while, he didn't know how to make clothing, after all. He then scrolled over to the skill section to check out the Inspect ability.


Allows inspection of objects. Details improve as levels rise.


'I hope this lets me find something edible,' thought Alban. He was starting to feel hungry. And there was that Survive quest too. He noticed a cloud floating along the ground right by him, which surprised him as he thought he left the area they were around. He stood back at a safe distance and glanced at it, activating Inspect.


It seems he found the answer to his food problem.
