Chapter 37

I securely keep Ann's arm linked to mine as we take a walk all the way to the plaza.

We just finished discussing most of the details with Ophelia when she realized that Ann has never been to the streets of the Garnet fief.

Phoenix had to stay behind as Ophelia wanted him to check a new fabric she purchased just recently. Ann's maid was also left behind under the request that she have her measurements taken and fitted for better clothing.

I can still recall Phoenix's cry to not leave him behind and it makes me chuckle.

"What are you laughing about?"

I turn to Ann and find her staring at me questioningly.

"Nothing." I answer back and she just smiles at me, helpless by my answer.

It was endearing. I can't help but think so.

I've never thought I would think of Rosanna in such a way, but looking at Ann, it's hard to see her as Rosanna. Even if she looks like her on the outside, the way her eyes light up, the way her expression softens.
