Chapter 23:Four Heavenly Squabbles

"They're still not back? I guess it's fine, they could have already made their way into the forest. I'll enter the war council now, nobody in the 35th Elite battalion leaves or enter the camp unless I get back. Understand?" [MIko]

"Yes ma'am"[Commanding officer]

She pulled out 4 black tablets and placed them on the desk and talked into them.

"Botan do you copy."[Miko]

"I am preparing to sneak into the forest from the west, all my scouts never returned so I thought I might have to go in myself at this point" [Botan]

"Good luck I will be joining the meeting soon, may your hostage rescuing operation succeed Botan."[Miko]

"Now that that's settled why isn't our deputy executive and executive responding?"[Miko]

"There's something that is limiting communication tablet transmission in or out of the forest. Looks like they came prepared for our scouts to only go in but not out as well. As for Polka... I think she's probably just sleeping..."[Botan]

Miko took Polka's communication tablet closer to her ears and she could hear sounds of someone snoring...

" *Ahem* They may have their own circumstances, but now that our Demon Lord executive is unresponsive we just lost our only eyes in the forest. What's your next plan Maou-sama? "[Kanata]

"Hmmph, with the both of us garner 2 votes out of 4 so we only need to prolong it until we get back in touch with them. Just wait and see who will get the last laugh King Pufflegum! *Puu kusukusu*."[Miko]

"By the way, can I get a higher position than my current one after all of this is over?" [Botan]

Botan blurted a request out of the blue that caught Miko unprepared.

"Eh? erm, what kind of position do you want? " [Miko]

"Let's see..., Chairman!"[Botan]

"That's fine I think, finish your job and you will get the new position in the demon lord's forces." [Miko]

"Kanatan, you're new to our cause and is regarded as a spy for having multiple relationships with some people from high places. I don't doubt your loyalty, but if you were to betray me, I will flay you alive."[Miko]

Miko let off a stern warning to Kanata and voiced the consequences of betraying her but Kanata let out a surprising reply.

"But I thought this was supposed to be just another part-time job?..." [Kanatan]

"Eh?" [Miko]

Miko was astonished by Kanata's statement and immediately lashed out

"The contract! Didn't you sign it? Did you read it properly? You're supposed to be one of us now from now onwards as a servant of the Demon Lord's army !" [Miko]

"Excuse me, Maou-sama. I just had a better idea, how about I replace you as the demon lord instead."[Botan]

"No! You can't take away my position!"[Miko]

"Actually, I feel like stopping the war but I'm not too hyped to join the 4 heavenly kings. So, is it too late now to turn my back on the contract?"[Kanata]

"Please don't do that! If you did I would need to look for new candidates to fill the position! I'll see what I can do about the contract, we can figure something out so please don't go!"[Miko]

Miko pleaded to Kanatan profusely until both of them settled down and proceeded to do their mission.

"Seriously, without Flare-tan I won't be able to uphold my dignity." [Miko]

"Are you ready Maou-sama? The conference will start in 5 minutes, you can get in now." [A-Chan]

Miko wears her attire and her precious helm and walks towards the doorway of the tent where A-chan is standing next to.

"Okay, let's get this over with." [Miko]

Miko exited the doorway but instead of getting outside of the tent. She's now inside a grand conference room but there is 1 more extra guest in sight that Miko did not expect to see.

"What?! Who brought this sassy brat in here ?!!! " [Miko]

It is now night and Calli went ahead to change into clothes that are more comfortable she said. The party goes on! I set up the table in our room and uncorked the wine.He poured both glasses of wine and only now all that's left is just Calli coming back from changing. The door opens and Calli is wearing black nightwear that looks kinda lewd.

"What are you staring at?"[Calli]

"Nothing, you look...relaxed..." [Edge]

"Hell yeah, it's been a long day after all." [Calli]

Calli immediately grabs the glass and sits down while taking a sip. And so it begins the 4-day drinking marathon.
