Chapter 24:The War Council (Day One)
"What?! Who brought this sassy brat in here ?!!! " [Miko]
"Hellshio Mikochi, by the way, why can't I come by myself?"[-]
It was a girl with small stature, silver hair, all dressed in purple and wearing a witch's hat.
"Settle down ladies, the conference is starting soon, put aside your differences until it's over. "[-]
The pompous voice resounded from the other side of the room. A man with a plump figure is seated as steady as a mountain.
"Why is she here, King Pufflegum?! We only needed 1 representative of the demon realm after all!" [Miko]
"Miss Shion was here originally for Princess Luna's wrinkle treatment but I believe we will need the Demon Academy's help this time for other purposes." [Pufflegum]
"Yes, as you can see I'm a pretty important figure here Mikochi so let's get along shall we?" [Shion]
Shion let out a smug smile towards Miko, and Miko could feel her blood pressure rise from having her plans screwed. Now that there are 5 votes in total, we might need to cut a deal with Pekoland to stop the war. I should see their stance on it first before we act. Miko is currently harboring such thoughts while looking at the purple-haired woman with a calm demeanor that is sitting on her left. A-Chan wearing a business suit walked up to the podium and made an announcement.
"Now that everyone has been assembled, I will now begin the 445th War Council " [A-Chan]
Miko hurriedly sat down on her seat, the tables are arranged in a circular shape with the podium in the middle of the circle so that everyone can see the podium clearly.
"Before we everyone raise your hands and make the pledge of faith."[A-Chan]
Everyone raised their hands and spoke the following words.
"I pledge that I came in good faith in order to be of assistance to prevent the destruction of the continent and not for a war of interest." [Everyone]
"We shall continue on the next on our itinerary, Investigation report on the kidnapping of Princess Himemori Luna and the preceding testimony from the princess's royal maid herself."[A-Chan]
A maid wearing blue and white maid clothing with an onion-looking head stood at the podium.
"I... My.. name is..."[-]
"Just speak normally Aqua, I'm falling asleep trying to listen to you finish your sentence." [Shion]
Feeling embarrassed by Shion's taunting, Aqua balled her fists and raised her voice to hide her embarrassment.
"Uh.. MY NAME IS MINATO AQUA! ROYAL MAID OF PRINCESS ANE-, NO! HIMEMORI LUNA!"[Aqua]
Her voice resounded around the room and King Pufflegum made an annoyed look after being surprised by her loud shout.
"Let's start with you telling us what you saw that night."[Pufflegum]
"1 month ago, at midnight I was supposed to send the princess her midnight snack at the time but I was early that day so I entered the Princess's royal chambers after I arrived. When I entered, I saw a woman all dressed in black holding the princess trying to escape via the window. I-" [Aqua]
"Hold on, how did you know her gender?" [Miko]
Miko feels her words are suspicious just as the reason for the war to be waged but she couldn't say the real reason that caused this mess and that alone frustrates her.
"I..Uh.. Threw at her..."[Aqua]
"What did you throw at her?" [Kanata]
*Crack*
Kanata intends to assist Miko by putting pressure on her, hoping that she will break. With her ultimate grip strength, she crushed her pen into dust in front of Aqua.
"I..I..Threw my tray at her and she... spoke to the princess..." [Aqua]
"What did she say?" [Pufflegum]
Pufflegum stood up from his chair.
"Sh..she..said 'Are you alright princess?' in a manly tone but I could tell it's a gi...gir...girl." [Aqua]
Miko seemingly thought she found the strange part of the story and thus began to say her theory.
"I am led to believe that the intruder is intending to protect the princess wouldn't you all think?"[Miko]
Miko looks around the room and sees that Shion is very diligently writing down notes for this conference which comes to her as shocking but the others wore the same face as usual.
"Come to think of it Princess Himemori is an astounding genius so we can presume that she hired them for her own safety right? Haha." [Kanata]
Miko's back was drenched with sweat with how close Kanata was revealing the real situation but she thinks Kanata pushed it a little too far and they should slowly release information about it to see their acceptance of the truth.
"Ridiculous, how wouldn't she feel safe in her own kingdom, did Princess Luna say anything in return?" [Pufflegum]
Pufflegum seems anxious so the ball is thrown to Aqua once again.
"Sh...She fell unconscious..." [Aqua]
"This doesn't make any sense." [Miko]
"What happened?" [Pufflegum]
Aqua seems to have difficulty in speaking her next line but she holds herself together and yells out what she was desperately trying to hide from them. Her guilt.
"MY TRAY SLIPPED DURING THE THROW AND HIT PRINCESS HIMEMORI IN THE HEAD!!" [AQUA]
She started bawling like a child and couldn't stop until she was removed from the podium.
"UWAAAAAAAAAH IM SORRY IM SO SORRY UWAHHHHHHHH!!!" [AQUA]
The representative from Pekoland stood up and left the venue to take a break and went after Aqua that exited the venue.
In the room, there were only 5 of them left along with A-chan.
"Well isn't that interesting Miss Shion?"[Pufflegum]
The testimonial was over but it seems that Shion is still writing notes in her notebook.
"Shion-san...?"[Kanata]
Both of them called out to her but there was no response at all and she was still working on her notebook.
"THAT'S ENOUGH!! JUST LOOK AT US ALREADY!" *BANG* [Miko]
Miko slams the table hard after her patience was tested. The image of her writing diligently dissipates into thin air and what appeared was Shion who was fast asleep on the chair. She stretched her arms and rubbed her eyes in a carefree manner.
" *Yawn* Is it over already?"[Shion]
Miko stood up from the table angrily and yelled
"MOTHERFAQER!!" [Miko]
Miko climbs the table and pounces towards Shion who is defenseless....
The meeting ended early that day thanks to Miko's misconduct in the War Council. For her to cool off, the next council will happen in 3 days.
