'A Hallucination Is A Fact, Not An Error, What Is Erroneous, Is A Judgement Based Upon It.' ~ Bertrand Russel
"Madison Pay Attention To The Ball!" Coach Lydia Screams At Me As I Loose Possesion Of The Ball Yet Again.
The Opposing Defender Pushes Me Towards The Ground As I Crash Near The Sidelines. Pain Shoots Up From My Ankles , As I Slowly Get Up.
No. I Need To Do This. I Need To Score.
"Pass!" I Scream Towards Roxie, My Teammate Who Crosses The Ball Beautifully Near The Goal Line. I Quickly Trap The Ball With My Foot As I Shoot A Left Footed Shot Towards The Goalie.
The Ball Curves As It Reaches The Post And Misses The Keeper By An Inch, As The Ball Slides Into The Net.
The Crowd Jumps Up Roaring With Applause As The Refree Blows The Final Whistle. Thats It. A Victory For West Ham United Academy.
My Teammates Carry Me Towards The Dugouts As Coach Linda Tends To My Injury.
"Its A Minor Ankle Sprain" She Mutters As She Applies The Bandages. "You Will Be Fine In A Week. Rest , And No Physical Activity Or Gym For A Week Madison." She Looks At Me Sternly As Roxie Laughs.
"You Better Put Her On A Leash Then." Roxie Giggles. "She Has A Tendency Of Breaking The Rules Often."
"Geez Roxie Thanks, You Really Are My Best Friend." I Look At Her As She Bursts Out Laughing.
Soccer Is An Integral Part Of My Life. I Had Been Playing Since Childhood , And Due To My Recent Performances I Had Recieved A Scholarship To Be A Part Of West Ham United Academy. I Now Played In The Under 19 Divisions And Was A Prime Candidate For Professional Play.
I Quickly Change Inside The Washrooms And Head On Out, Tying My Long Hair Into A Pony Tail. I Wait Outside As I Look Towards The Clear , Warm Afternoon Skies.
"Heeeeeey!" I Hear A Voice Behind Me As I Spin Around. Trent, My Younger Brother Looks At Me With A Huge Grin.
"You Play Like Shit." He Grins As He Looks At Me.
"Yeah, Thats Why I Am In The Team And You Are Not." I Retort Back. "Anyways Why Are You Here? I Don't Asume You Wanted To Watch Me Play Anyways." I Grin Back At Him.
"I Doubt Anyone Would Wanna Watch You Play Sis." He Looks At Me, Shooting Daggers From His Eyes. "And Anyways, Mom Found An Envelope On Your Pillow. She Told Me To Give This To You." He Nods As He Hands Me An Unmarked Envelope.
"If This Is One Of Your Dumb Jokes Again, I Swear." I Mutter As He Quickly Jumps On His Bicycle.
"My Jokes Are Way Better. You Better Watch Out!" He Laughs As He Pedals Away.
As His Bike Disappears Into The Distance, I Open The Envelope. It Is Blank, And There Is Nothing Inside It. I Tear It And Toss It Into The Bin With A Loud Sigh, As Roxie Runs Out From The Building.
"Hope I Didn't Keep You Waiting!" She Exclaims In Her Typical Sing Song Voice As She Grins. "Lets Go!"
I Nod As We Walk Towards Her House. "So Madison!" She Turns Her Head Towards Me. "Do You Need An Ice Cream Break For Your Little Boo Boo?"
"Why Are You Such A Jerk?" I Mumble As She Laughs.
"Don't Worry I Am Just Kidding! I Hope Your Injury Gets Better Soon. Also By The Way, Did You Study For Our Test Tommorow?" She Looks At Me.
"Crap." I Sigh As I Realise I Have Missed It. "No Not Really. I Guess I Need To Study Up Well." I Say, As We Walk Home.
After A While , I Say Goodbye To Roxie As I Continue Walking Home. The Afternoon Sun Is Light, And Feels Warm And Refreshing. As I Rummage Through My Bagpack, I Feel Something Papery.
As I Take It Out, I Gasp. Its The Same Envelope That I Tossed Into The Bin A While Back. What Is This Doing Here?
I Tear The Envelope Open. This Time I See Something Scribbled On It. I Squint My Eyes As I Struggle To Read What Is Written.
'To Faith Clair. You Are Invited To The Abandoned Apartment Near St. Marks Road. Come Alone, If You Want Answers To Your Questions. And Come On This Date. April 23rd 2015. Your Arrival Is Eagerly Expected.'
Who Was This Faith Clair? And The Date..April 23rd 2015, Its Three Days From Today.
No. This Must Be Some Sick Joke.
However As I Look Up, I Realise The Scenery Has Shifted.
I Am Now Standing On A Highway, As Cars Whizz Past Me. Suddenly I See A Car Collide With A Truck As It Flips Upside Down. As The Car Crashes, A Young Girl Slowly Makes Her Way Out Of It.
"Help." She Mutters Weakly, Soaked In Blood.
I Freeze. I Try To Move My Legs , But They Wont Move As The Young Girl Tearfully Screams , Begging Me To Help. As I Look Towards The Car, I See Bodies Of Two More People.
Shit. Must Be Her Parents.
As She Approaches Me, Stumbling Slowly, She Puts Her Hand Outwards For Support. I Try To Grab Her, To Save Her, But She Passes Right Through Me.
And Then I See A Man. In A Brown Overcoat, Hold Her As She Faints In His Arms.
Suddenly I Am In A Dark Space As Owls Hoot All Around Me. The Huge White Owls Fly Right Above Me And Perch On Trees That I Cannot See. They Open Their Eyes As I Stare Into Them, Their Cold Amber Coloured Eyes.
And Suddenly I See A Silhouette Of A Wolf. A Gigantic Wolf Creeping Up Behind Me.
I Am Suddenly Jolted Awake As Someone Splashes Water On My Face. As My Eyes Adjust I See A Small Crowd Of People Around Me , As A Woman Exclaims , "She Is Awake!"
"Hu-huh?" I Mutter As I Get Up Feeling Dizzy, Staring Blankly At Everyone.
"You Passed Out." The Woman Exclaims. "You Must Have Had A Sun Stroke Or Something." She Mumbles.
"Ye-Yeah.. Thanks For Your Help." I Quickly Get Up As I Dart Away.
What The Heck Did I Just See?
Still Confused, I Reach Home And Burst Into The Living Room. No One Is At Home, So I Quickly Change Into My Pyjamas As I Lie Down On My Bed, Thinking.
It Must Have Been A Hallucination. There Is No Way That What I Saw Was Real.
But Why? Do I Have Anxiety? Why Did I Hallucinate All Of A Sudden? And Just Who Was That Girl!?
My Thinking Is Interrupted By The Sound Of The Doorbell. Mom Greets Me As I Open The Door.
"How Was The Game Madison?" She Smiles At Me, As She Sets The Grocery Bag On The Table.
"Um, It Was Quite Good." I Smile At Her. "I Scored Today...It Was The Winning Goal."
"Wow!" Mom Explains As She Grins, Beaming. "Thats Amazing!!!"
I Smile And Nod, My Thoughts Elsewhere. I Needed To Get To The Bottom Of This, I Needed Answers.
I Quickly Eat My Dinner, As I Rush Back Upstairs. I Open My Laptop, As I Start Studying For The Test.
However As Much As I Try, I Cannot Shake Off The Feeling Of Dread That Lingers Around Me.
