92. Ultimate truth

''How is it? Nice right?'' Li Zhilan had taken Li Chao to eat at the place she brought to three idiots the last time.

''Hmm yeah. It has rich taste and-"

"And I'd advice you to eat less. Don't make yourself too stuffed.''

''What do you mean?'' Seeing that cunning smile on his Muffin's face, Li Chao felt as if he had just stepped in a demoness's trap.

''3, 2, 1 Ring ring'' At exactly the same time his phone rang. The screen showed 'grandpa' and at that instant realization shined upon Li Chao. He hasn't gone to visit their maternal family yet.

''You... couldn't you give me a lighter punishment?'' Li Chao felt like crying at the moment.

''I didn't say you were here for a week.''

''Thank-"

"I told them that you were here for almost a month. You were just very bussy with work that you didn't even have much time to visit me until today.''

Li Chao felt like crying. That was the worst punishment he could ever get. If she just said that he was here for a month, then it might have been some light scolding but she had added that he only met her today.

If he couldn't even find the time to meet his Muffin, then he ought to be working to the point of missing his meals and sleep which was very crucial in the eyes of the elderlies.

Li Chao knew he was in for a good deal of scolding. So to atleast try to gain a little favor, Li Chao quickly picked up the phone and said in an extra jolly voice.

''Grandpa.''

''Shut your trap and come home this instant.'' Li Chao's excited greeting was returned with a thunderous voice.

''Get going if you want to be favored by even a little.'' Li Zhilan said nonchalantly while she was bussy munching on a shrimp.

...

''Good Li Chao, very good. You were here for a month and didn't let anyone of us know. You didn't even go see Xiao Lan forget about having you food and sleep on time.''

''Grandpa I-"

"Shut up. Who is your grandpa. If you had considered me as your grandpa you would have atleast told me you were here.''

It wasn't that Li Chao didn't want to say the truth that he was here for only a week. It was just that after years if experience, he had learned that even though everyone knew that Li Zhilan was lying, no one would treat it as a lie. What she said was the ultimate truth, always.

...

On the other side, after having her fill, Li Zhilan walked towards her place. She walked through the streets and did a little shopping as well.

Though dressed in a casual black jeans and white top, she made heads turn with her soft yet excited smile.

And then it poured. Li Zhilan quickly ran towards the front of a Cafe to get some shelter from the rain.

Since it had already been so long, she decided to save her first brotha.

''Muffin.'' Li Chao's voice sounded like he had finally met his saving grace through the call. Infact he had really met his saving grace. He was waiting for this particular call for more then an hour. Otherwise he could forget about leaving early. It was always like this. Li Zhilan would put them in trouble but also save them after some time.

''Come get me from Mountain Cafe. Don't forget to bring an umbrella. It's pouring.''
