102. Heartache

The flight was arranged so quickly that by the time she reached the airport, that too after running a few red lights, the plane was ready to take off.

...

It had been a three days since Li Zhilan had returned back to country M.

These three days, she had stayed cooped up at home ever since her return without eating or meeting everyone that they had been worried to death. Even the three monkeys wanted to come but she had made it impossible to so all they could do was talk to others at home and find out her condition.

Only after three days did she step out of her room fully dressed, smiling like she normally did like nothing happened, but the thick layer of concealer under her eyes gave the tears she had shed away. But no one talked about it. Even though they knew that her smile didn't reach her eyes, they stayed mum.

''I'm going to school.'' Li Zhilan waved her hands as he got on her bicycle and rode away.

She didn't like doing anything. She just wanted to stay in bed and sleep. Sleep helped her forget the pain her heart felt. It made her forget the sadness. Sleep made her tensed body relax and her heart calm down. That was why, at this moment, all she wanted to do was sleep. To forget. To sleep the pain away.

But Li Zhilan knew that she could continue it like this because this wasn't how she was. Even I'd she faced a huge problem, after her sleep, she would always tackle it away. She won't just let it be. So, she couldn't let him make her stay low. If he could, why couldn't she. Why should she stay cooped up while he enjoys. No. Never. If he can have fun, she could and she should have double of that fun.

But the main reason we're her family and friends. It was only because she had blocked each and every way for them to come back that they were stayng where they were. She knew how worried they were all these days and how sad they were this morning as well. She knew she could never hide from them but she couldn't just go around weeping at them. The heartache they would feel would be much more then hers. That was what she knew for a fact. So when she couldn't control her heartache, how can they control what's so much more then hers. She wasn't so heartless. She would never allow them that.

That was why she got up this morning and dressed up, ready for school.
