111. To perfection

Li Zhilan felt shocked that the person who picked up the book of Lucas was actually Director Yang.

It wasn't just a coincidence. It was a freaking miracle. One had to know that Director Yang is one of the best in the entertainment industry of Country M. And the entertainment industry of Country M is considered to be the top most part of the industry. Every actor, actress, directors and scriptwriters, in short, anyone related to the entertainment industry dreamed and strived to one day be able to take part in something that was produced by the industry of Country M.

And now, Lucus's book had caught the eyes of someone who stood at the top of the food chain in Country M's entertainment industry. Is this what is called serendipity? Something good comes after something bad?

But even though Li Zhilan was experiencing complicated feelings, she didn't let it show. She didn't forget the role of a granny she was playing.

''Director Yang. Give me the book and get it done with. I don't have all the time in the world.''

''Mrs...?''

''You can call me O.''

''Mrs. O. I would like to talk with you some business but before that, I'd like to know your relation with the writer, Mr. Lucas.'' Director Yang had entered business mode, his aura full on display.

Though he was just a Director, his aura was very strong. Even those top actors and actresses he casted on his shows feared his aura. They would tremble everytime.

But Li Zhilan wasn't just some actor or actress you would find on the set. She is the young miss who has been trained since she was could remember. The aura of power she was around normally was much more than what Director Yang could show, ever.

''Director Yang. Lucas is my grandson. What business are you talking about?''

''Mrs. O. I want to adapt Lucas's book into a movie. More precisely, into my next movie. So I would like to ask for the permission as well as talk about the contract-"

''Hold your horses Director Yang. No one agreed to your proposal for you to move onto the contract.''

''Excuse me but what do you mean Mrs. O?''

''What I mean is we are not agreeing to signing the book off to be adapted into a movie.''

''What?! This can't be. Is it Mr. Lucus who doesn't agree to this. Why is he rejecting this offer. Is it because he thinks that I can't do it well? Does he think that I can't turn the book into a move well. Is that it. If thats it, I swear upon my life that I'll do it well. Even the casts, I swear it will be handpicked by me without any outside obstacles. Let me do this. I am sure I can make it the best I could ever make. Please help me put in some good wor-"

''Enough... sigh... looking at you I'm not sure whether you are the real one or not. Why are you getting so worked up because of a story. I know that my Lucus is talented but don't you think you should maintain your image little better?''

''If maintaining my image costs me this plot, I would rather loose this image and obtain the story. Afterall an image won't help me put bread on the table at home.''

''Heh... If the image is lost, you will not gain the same as what you are supposed to.''

''I beleive that I can build my image again if I have to. But coming across something that makes me want to put my heart into is extremely rare. So I'd rather embrace the thing close to my heart.''

''Director Yang, I like your ideology. Don't worry. You can make the story into a movie but make sure it's perfect. It will the the first work of my Lucas. Don't mess it up or you won't be able to bear the consequences.

''Don't worry Mrs. O. I'll make sure to make this movie to the best of my capability. No matter how much time it takes, this is going to be made to perfection. You have my word for it.''

''Thats it then.'' Li Zhilan stood up to leave but before that she brought her hand forward for a shake. When Director Yang took it, she had it in a strong grip and said each word slowly but meaningfully. ''I'm trusting you on this.''

''Y-yes, of course.'' Director Yang couldn't help but sweat a little. He couldn't help but wonder about the identity of this old lady. She had that friendly and clam air about her but once serious the aura she gave out was much stronger than what he experienced till now. And his experience wasn't anything low. Being such a renowned director, he had come in contact with people of every position, starting from businessmen to government officials. But none of them gave rise to fear in his heart like this old lady did. This old lady wasn't any simple. Even if he were to be killed right now, he won't beleive that she was someone simple. No way. No way at all.
