Chapter 2

'It's sometimes mind-boggling what truly motivated wizard could do, just by imagining if wizards had someone like Leonardo Da Vinci of their own…' Harry thought with a slightly frightened look.

'They had their Merlin and that guy made wands widespread, from there out wands became part of everyday life, but that was like thousand years ago…' the boy frowned just by thinking how heavily wizards are reliant on their sticks…

'But that part can wait…' Harry said to himself as he looked at the 'system' array.

He just finished laying down a whole system which does the calculations, next he needs a display and actual buttons.

By this point he has spent a whole year just delving into the art of transmutation, turning dirt, plastic, steel, or any other stuff he could put his hands-on into something else.

Alchemy is very… fickle art, several times it almost exploded in his face, if not for the obvious signs of incoming explosion he would be dead or extremely wounded.

But all in all, he got hang of transmutation, and now he can make gold from dirt, just like the book said he would.

Not that he needs gold to begin with, he prefers Mythril, the most magic 'friendly' metal he can make at this moment.

After getting the right metal he started working on the array 'system', that where he got a roadblock, the whole Array system was far too big for the hand-sized calculator, not only that but he needs to add a screen which shows the numbers, and the buttons as well! That's even bigger roadblock which excited and pissed Harry off!

This is what truly started his road towards technomancy, as this roadblock will plague him for the next several years!

~~~
Six-year-old Harry was looking at silver adult hand-sized calculator on the table in front of him.
He was by all means and purposes taken aback just how long it took for him to create the small device in front of him!
The hardest part was to put everything together, creating arrays which can show things is quite easy, as well as buttons, well more or less he went for touch screen ones, instead of rubber ones.
So, after several explosive tries, instead of just putting everything together, he went for 'lego' route where he can put everything together, piece by piece, but even after that the whole thing was still quite huge, so he started to look for ways to make the whole thing smaller.
The obvious one being that he needs to draw runes much smaller, for that he created runic pen, it's small and thin with needle-like tip, perfect for that kind of thing.
The next hurdle he encountered was that he can't just make all the arrays into doughnut-shaped ones with a magic core, as it would generate to much heat, so he needed a magic power source for this, at first he decided to go with a single doughnut-shaped array which can act like a battery, but it generated far too little energy and requires quite a bit of magic just to start the whole system 'Array', so he needs something which can act like a battery and doesn't use too much space as well.
The most obvious choice is creating something similar to common day use battery.
But as it turns out is not that easy just to 'simply' make one.
First he came up with arrays which can transfer magic, this caused him to rework the whole 'system' array as he added another array into the mix, as well as reorganising the whole layout of his calculator and making space where the battery is going to be.
In the end, he decided not to use an Arrays instead he started testing how much can each material hold magic.
First, the most obvious one was water, but that was quickly thrown out of the window, while it can be used in potion-making, this substance doesn't hold much magic and potions usually are only have temporary effects, unless of course they use some special materials as ingredients.
Then he decided to go with liquid mithril, this was much more difficult as the substance can't stay in a liquid state for long, and it naturally starts to solidify if it's exposed to outside.
But in the end, he was able to succeed by the container for the battery, the first try was not quite successful one as the battery only lasted for couple minutes before it runs out of juice.
While it was disappointing he was going the right direction, now he only needs to find a way to increase the capacity of the battery.
That's what took him so long to figure out, if he simply draws arrays inside the battery the liquid Mythril can cause a reaction which can lead to a large explosion, so what he did next was segmenting the battery into several smaller containers.
The whole process needed to be reworked several times over which lead him to the idea which he decided to standardize his future technomancy with similar types of batteries.
As what he came up with allowed nearly endless amount of magic generation.
The battery inside is segmented into two layers, the first one is the liquid Mythril which is the storage of the battery, the other layer holds several magical generating arrays which create magic and then sends to the liquid Mythril, but there is a catch, if he uses to much magic it will shut down and needs to be recharge manually, and if he uses too little the battery will have too much magic and it will overheat and melt or in the worst-case scenario it will explode.
That's where the monitoring array came in which was inscribed close to the battery port.
After this was done, now officially the calculator was done.
It was a… quite an experience to say the least, while it was mostly based on muggle technology, but even so, it took him around three years to build a single working calculator.
But even so it opened doors for future technomancy… like computer, he already knows how to make most of things, but first…
He needs to do something with the mail he is receiving from wizarding world!!!
~~~

After finishing with the calculator he noticed that owl started to gather around in his bunker, this lead Harry to start building a place where he can receive his mail.

Compared to his calculator this was utterly easy, he added one extra room to his bunker and made a hole where owls can fly through, and then he set up a few areas where they can drop their letters, the only annoying thing was that several of them were goddamn port keys, others even had curses and hexes for some stupid reason…

He answered his 'fan' letters when he had some time, and of course if the owls stayed long enough for that, while the ones which had presents he decided to answer back, and if he can't do that now at least he would type down their names and send a 'thank you' message later.

'I should get to Diagon Alley at some time but right now it's just too early, am only six at this moment and it's quite annoying that I have to deal with growing-up stage all over again…' Harry sighed as he used one of his templates of 'thank you' message and wrapped on owl leg and let it fly back to its master.

'Right let's see if I can make out from mail, in what kind of HP universe I did ended up…' Harry typed down names of people who send post to him.

So far only few he knows of, and even then it doesn't says much…

'At least I know that Most Ancient and Most Noble house stuff does exist in this one.' His eyes went over and read the name of this individual of noble house, from context he can guess that it's an heiress.

After he answered the mail, he was about to pick up another but before that he scanned the whole thing with his senses and arrays to make sure it's not bobby trapped before opening it.

He cringed when he read the content of the mail, another marriage proposal, which he instantly incinerated with his raw magic.

Letters like these always dumped his mood, which means he loses interest in doing this… chore, usually after that he goes autopilot and finishes them soon as possible.

~~~
After finishing the calculator Harry focused on his newest project something he wanted to do a long time ago.
Computer is one of his most important landmarks he has to achieve to truly tap into Technomancy.
Building the monitors and keyboard was practically child's play since he already had experience in building something similar.
He made those in a few days, but the hardest part of course is the computer itself.
Processor was something he already had… some of the experience building, but hard drive? Motherboard? Even video card like 'System' Array is something he only has a clue on how to do. This means he has no idea how to proceed, apart from testing his theories.
After getting all the material Harry started with the motherboard, the motherboard is where everything comes together and it's something he already has done with his calculator.
From there he started working on hard drive, basically something which can store information in.
To his surprise it was not that hard, all he needed is to create a very specific doughnut-shaped array, but once again it wasn't that simple as he found out that the size of memory in this new Hard drive was quite abysmal, or that what he thinks it, but for now he can't figure it out without actually using it…
And so without even realising, Harry spend the next four years working on this particular technomancy.
While Harry was in his little world the Wizarding world was in massive upheaval, The Boy-Who-Lived was missing and the Headmaster of Hogwarts who supposed to be responsible for the boys well being is under lots of scrutiny.
This all started one morning in Hogwarts Great Hall when everyone received their newspapers and on headlines they all saw in large letters that The Saviour of Magical Britain finally answer his fan mail.
Albus Dumbledore nearly got a stroke when he read the headline he wanted the whole fiasco that Harry Potter is missing to hide as long as possible, but now he is answering his fan mail as well telling to everyone what he WAS living with muggles who despise magic, that he was put here without proper explanation and that his magical guardian never visits him…
That kind of letters very quickly made the Ministry of Magic spring into action!
The whole Magical Britain went to look for their missing Hero, yet year's have passed and they could not find him!
The Headmaster of Hogwarts even tried sending mail with port key inside of it, only for it to never work, he even send message asking for the boy to tell where he is!
Only to receive an answer which says 'I am not interested'
This leads to many people accusing Albus Dumbledore that it's his fault that their Saviour doesn't want to interact with Magical Britain which cost him two of his positions in the magical world.
While he was disappointed in such development, eventually he realised that it was a blessing in disguise as he now has more time to think, and try looking for Harry.
That was four years ago… and yet the Great Albus Dumbledore has no idea where the boy is, he tried everything he could, at one time he nearly found his location, only to lose it nearly instantly!
He knows it's not Fidelius Charm, as he knows the general location of him, and Fidelius is on very basic level doesn't work like that, whatever the wards he is hiding behind are something he never experienced before…
It's like he is hiding behind some sort of wall, which makes all the magic bounce off of it!
'Hopefully he will come to Hogwarts next year, otherwise… I have no idea what will happen!' The Headmaster sighed to himself, to his utter shame his hands are sealed!
